Re: Thief Endgame - EGA vs. VGA

It is definitely something new. I think they wanted to explain what happened to Khaveen if you were a thief. I love all the extra stuff that got put into the game.

Re: Mage's Initiation: Reign of the Elements

I'm making a game, and it will cost at least $10. It kinda has to to be worth it. As long as the game has the content to back it up, it shouldn't matter if it is "indie" or not. Most people aren't going to pay $50 for a game like Angry Birds. It is purely a casual game. However, something ...

Re: Mage's Initiation: Reign of the Elements

Right, but those are actual physical copies of the game. We're talking $15 for just a digital copy, so you wouldn't even have anything physical to work with...Plus those prices are usually for Wii and XBOX, not PC. PC games, last I checked, run about $20 brand new, just released. So $15 just seems ...

Re: Mage's Initiation: Reign of the Elements

Is it really that expensive? Think about how much game companies normally charge for a game on release. $40? $50? $60?

Sounds almost like you're describing a new FACS Famous Adventurer... I would be happy for the hero to have retired to that position.

Re: Kickstarter

Crowd-funding is something that is needed to get projects off the ground. Himalaya is already up and running. Unless they need an influx of cash then it is probably best not to. If they're capable of making the games they want to make with the funds they have, why crowd-fund?

Re: More news from the Cole's on possible QFG or similar Kic

I dunno... everything I've heard from the Coles in the past decade has made it sound like they wouldn't want to make a game like QfG.

I'm trying to stop myself from buying these, at least until they are on sale. I have so many copies it just doesn't seem right.

But it would make things so much easier...

I remember I was able to kill my evil reflection, but the game wouldn't finish the battle until the scripted event, the reflection would still be there attacking me with an empty life bar. :( That shouldn't have been possible. Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history

Don't worry. I definately plan on downloading the final version and playing through (without having to worry about reporting my bugs... what was I up to? 91?). This game is worth playing over and over. I think it is about as perfect as a game of this type can get. I actually opened the old Beta yest...

Re: An unorthodox way to resolve the QFG 3 points problem

My wife gave me the best gift ever a few years ago. I was playing the QfG series again (I think after the addition of AGD's version of QfG2), and I told her that despite the fact I knew it was impossible, every time I played QfG3 I had to try everything I could to get to 500 (and that I was always 3...

Awesome movie. Saw the 3D version on a huge screen. Amazing.

Not sure how it ranks on my best experiences of all time thing though. I stopped having "feelings" about things a while ago. But if I did still get excited about stuff, then I'd say it would definately be up there.

Re: Use D-Fend to play old classic games like Sierra games.

Running in full screen was never a problem for me (hitting ALT+ENTER), neither setting up conf files. However, full screen is not very satisfying in many cases, as it changes the relative sizes to fit the screen resolution, which can result in stretching and such. I've never been able to obtain a s...

Re: Use D-Fend to play old classic games like Sierra games.

Hmm... for fullscreen in DOSBox all you should have to do is press Alt-Enter or set the "fullscreen" line in the dosbox.conf file to "true". But still, some people might prefer D-Fend if they find the DOSBox setup files a bit difficult to understand (D-Fend is just DOSBox, with a...

I already have the 2 for asking about marriage. I have everything that was in my points list up to this point. I was just hoping for the extra points (that I've never been able to get) that were discussed earlier in this thread. I'm back to thinking that my point list really is complete and there ar...

Re: General Quest for Glory discussions

Yup. I'm a Paladin. I've tried everything I can think of. Winning the initiation. Losing the initiation (strangely gives the same dialogue). Winning different parts of the initiation. Winning them in different ways. I'm not getting any points for talking to Uhura about it. And I can't get her to say...

Re: General Quest for Glory discussions

Ok... I've just gotten past the initiation in QfG3 and I've run into the same two problems as always: 1. Telling Uhura about the initiation gets me no points 2. I can't ask Uhura about "wife" to get points I have *never* been able to get those points, despite attempting it many, many times...

Re: 6 points for saying "No" to Ferrari

My understanding was that alteration was added to offset another issue to be certain a Thief-Paladin could end the game with 500 exactly. Of course, ADVRipper4's T-P ending YouTube vid already proved one could end as a Thief-Paladin with 506 points in the original... Ah. See, I never broke into Iss...

Re: General Quest for Glory discussions

I found another two points o_0 I had tried this over and over and over back when I was compiling my list. Healing the Meerbat as a Paladin. It would never work. But today, I walked up to the meerbat, gave him a pill, and got two points. So if the initiation thing pans out, I'll end up with 502 point...

6 points for saying "No" to Ferrari

The 6 points for saying no to Ferrari shouldn't be in there. The original had all the point stuff correct. I just finished with 506 out of 500 for becoming a paladin from a thief.

Re: Becoming paladin

Cool.

And after playing through a thief that turns into a paladin I've found the points do work exactly the same as in the original.

Which means the 6 points for saying no to Ferrari shouldn't be there. I just got 506 out of 500. *goes to add it to the bug forum*
