The first 3 distributions I would recommend to try out would be Ubuntu, Fedora Core or Gentoo. Please. Gentoo is not for beginners, and over 90% of them will run away screaming if they tried it first. Can't really recommend, as I've been using Gentoo for years now, and no longer know what is frie...

Isn't that a little risky? Officially, a company has no obligation to send in a cease & desist letter before taking someone to court over copyright infringement. It's not all that much riskier than the AGD's work. They don't have an obligation, but I think they also know full well that they're ...

I'm quite curious about those "negotiations" of theirs with Sierra. I know stuff like that can take lots of time, but it's been more than 2 years since that entry was added to the FAQ and no statement yet. I think it'll stay that way. I don't think that the SQ7 team sees Sierra's non-resp...

Also Windows 98 and 95 are much better at running DOS based programs than Windows 3.x. Huh? OK. If you have Win 3.1, then you need DOS. I defy you to find me a DOS program/game that worked better in '98 or '95 than it does in DOS (without Win running in the background). As for sound drivers, it cou...

Y'all could use software with spam filters - such as Mozilla Thunderbird (new version out yesterday).

Requires some training, but should certainly get over 90% accuracy within a week.

Sorry, it's the only free one I know of - I used to know about another but forgot its name.

Al Lowe & TBC

The Black Cauldron is a bit tough. Disney's one of those companies who doesn't mind lobbying to keep their grip on intellectual property or building copyright enforcing hardware into computers. Al Lowe has it free for download on his site: www.allowe.com/download.htm Here's what he says: As far as ...

Hi,

I like the picture, along with all the improvements. I think everything's been said, but:

Why on Earth are you guys so picky about the dirt? It looked fine right in the beginning.

Suggestions (spoilers) after finishing the game

Hi,

Suggestions with the interface and puzzles for future games:

* During some of the conversations, I could not click the mouse button or press Enter to hurry it up (Escape would be useless as it would skip the whole thing). That was immensely irritating. Ideally, when a person starts...

Timer

Regarding the whole timer deal, I never found it to be that irritating. I think it would be fine just to put a timer on top and have it run down to when Mannanan is next supposed to show up. The only irritating thing is when you're just waiting around for him to show up. There should be some option ...
