Re:  Random rants go here.

It doesn't do anything the Lite doesn't - on the contrary, the Lite has better backlighting (4 levels) and feels more comfortable to me - but I need two DS's for trading Pokémon, and it just doesn't make sense to do more damage than I've already done. As for the stylus, there should be a replacemen...

Re:  Random rants go here.

I may just have broken my DS Lite. Basically, I had a broken hinge, and it was a bit of a problem since it would often suddenly close if I (for one reason or another) moved the unit a bit too quickly. Since warranty didn't cover, and getting Nintendo to repair it would cost nearly as much as just ge...

Thing about Blizzard is that they focus on only their brands, and try to get out the best possible game. Hmmm... Did they make many other games outside Warcraft, Diablo and Starcraft? They've made 8 games outside of those series (most notably the Lost Vikings games and Rock 'n' Roll Racing), but no...

Technically, Mario's last name is only "half-canon", so to speak. Certain official sources have stated it in the past (the movie did as well), but these days, the official story seems to be that he doesn't have a last name (at least no official one) - the only thing still supporting it is ...

Done, MI. (If anyone thinks I've missed them, let me know. I have 4 people registered from here.)

Broomster, I sent you a message about your MKWii Friend Code - check the Wii Message Board, if you've installed the Mario Kart Wii channel, it's mostly automated. ;)

I kinda have an obsession with Peach (as does Josh Lesnick, BTW), so - yeah, Peach.

Don't worry, by the time I find one Brawl will have been released in the UK for months I'm sure.  :\ I wouldn't be too sure of that. The latest rumor seems to be that we won't see it until November (again, this is just a RUMOR). I'd import the US version and a Freeloader, if not for the fact that t...

The main reason those editors do that is because that's how it's actually stored: an AGI background is merely a list of vector commands, and not an actual picture. This means that two people could create the exact same background, but get a different resource size, merely because they took different...

The funny thing is that I've played LSL2 quite a few times now, and even though I know that parser bug is there, I can't remember ever actually experiencing it. I simplified my explanation of the phpBB2 system a bit for those who aren't familiar with web development, but to clarify... phpBB2 stores a timestamp for each user in the corresponding database table. This timestamp is updated whenever the user access a page. When the user starts a new session, php...

I'm pretty curious how phpBB3 managed to find a solution for this problem. It seemed like an impossible task to me. It's a very simple thing: Instead of just storing a timestamp and saying "all posts made after that timestamp are unread, the rest are read", you just store the post IDs tha...

Sadly, phpBB2 is designed like that. phpBB3 has fixed this, but I can't say when AGDI have planned an upgrade (if they've planned one at all).

Personally, I believe whoever thought of that idea should be dragged into a dark alley and slapped with a large trout. :p

Maybe there's a known some kind of issue with the video card driver version you're running? Try upgrading to the latest one. If you already have the latest, try downgrading.

Check your video card configuration to see if it has an option to not scale lower resolutions. I'm afraid I only have experience with NVidia's control panel, so I can't help you much as to where you'll find it.

I'm (still) heading for badge 8 with Pearl, but I want to my Pokémon to be a higher level than they were in Diamond - when I finished the League in that one, they were right around level 50 (that's the ENDING level), and I felt that was cutting it a little TOO close. I'm planning to start the Leagu...

All that really needs to be done to create a board is for the title to be added to their system, which means someone needs to submit data for it. I'm pretty sure you can do that yourself, although I don't know what it takes to get an approval.

It's not quite that simple. Endianness merely describes which byte goes first, but without knowledge of the "field sizes" used, it's not possible to flip them around (you can't tell 2 2-byte fields apart from a 4-byte field, or even 4 single bytes - so you don't know how to change it). Hav...

As far as I've ben told, they began in January 1997, announcing it 3 months later, so that'd make it almost 11 years old. It's the AGS scripting language. I forget what the official name is (I've never used it), but it's not actual C/C++ (though the syntax is similar).

Out of curiosity, what version control and bug tracking systems do you use, if any?

I'd like to take you up on your offer, then. I've heard the games are pretty good, but I've never actually tried them (or any other Steam app, anyway).

My Steam username is the same as here, Pidgeot. Let me know if you need more details or anything.
