Re: Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers on Good Old Games

Yeah, I wonder if they'll try to get at least the tracks that came with the GK1+2 collection. Guess we'll see when they put out GK2. Would be nice for those who don't know about things like Quest Studios.

Re: Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers on Good Old Games

Good Old Games, for those who don't know is a digital game store that offers many old games prepackaged to work on modern systems with no problems. As with all GOG games, there is no DRM. No activation and you can download the files all you want. Including Wallpaers, avatars, artwork, soundtracks, a...

Re: QFG2 Remake Source Code / Alternate builds?

It says the linux port is up to 2.72 You can try to see if it works by following these directions. Basically copy the QfG2VGA folder to your linux machine, put the Linux version of AGS in that folder, rename the game's exe to ac2game.dat, run setup, start ags and the linux version will try to play it.

Re: Did anyone get the soundtrack yet?

I downloaded it, but like many Quest Studios files, they don't have tags. Every track has the title of "Quest for Glory II VGA" So I can't import these into itunes unless I want to manually enter the song titles listed on the page.

Re: dying and the saurus

I had that problem in my current playthrough. I rarely play fighters, but I'm playing one fighter shooting for paladin since it's been so long since I've done EOF. I was rushing through and forgot about the saurus. If you have the parser or combo interface, you can click on him and type bargain unti...

You also have to keep in mind that the remake has silly clowns on by default so you may see things you haven't if you don't usually turn that on.

Re: Easter Eggs

If you have the parser or combo conversation method, you can ask at least Rakeesh and Dinarzad about Mordavia.

I went into DOSBox to verify that this was new and the original QfG2 doesn't even know the word

Re: Max alloted save files?

It's a three digit extension: agssave.001 agssave.002....

But maybe it actually maxes out at 99? I haven't hit it. The only reason I started fresh was to make sure I posted the right save here.

Re: Max alloted save files?

Do what we did on the old Sierra games. Make a subfolder. Move all but the latest save into that folder OR if you aren't sure which is the latest: Move all of the AGSsave files into another folder while the game is running. Then make a new save to start over with a fresh set. Only issue is you'd hav...

Re: Easter Eggs

HA! Ask to be taught by the Dark Master in WIT XD Made me laugh anyway :P That scene brought back many memories of the Sierra forums. When I still had a working DOS machine and before the fan patches, I was on the list for people to send their saves to. I played through that swamp many many times f...

Re: Hero Downloads

If you ever need to run any old windows programs that won't run under Vista, there's always Virtual PC . Vista 64 can't run 16-bit programs or some old DRM schemes. For these cases, it's nice to have a Virtual machine on hand with XP or even windows 98 installed. You just install VirtualPC, ignoring...

Re: Graphic glitch when fighting into evenening

Here, I got back into the fight, ran, saved, ran, saved... Accidentally ran into the oasis, loaded... Load this, then fight for a few seconds and it should happen. I reloaded this save a few times and even downloaded the rar from here and tried again just to be sure. It's reproducible for me every t...

Graphic glitch when fighting into evenening

I was out in the desert fighting a brigand when all of a sudden the screen became completely nighttime with no transition, then a few seconds later it became bright daytime again. when the battle ended the screen had the expected sunset coloring and then faded to night.

Re: HQ3x bug?

Check the nvidia control panel and go to custom resolutions and add 960x600 at 32bit. It will test it first. if nothing shows, wait and the last res will come back and you can delete the res. if it works... If you have vista, you'll need a more recent driver for custom resolutions to work correctly....

Re: ** The NEW AGDI REDESIGN/QFG2 LAUNCH thread **

It seems silly but when you think about it it makes sense. I guess it's the involuntary-...uh...-ness of it all. If someone wants to listen to music they want to be the ones to decide whether it plays or not. And I agree with that. It's just a nuisance. Plus if you go back to the website regularly ...

Re: To eriqchang~qfg2 ps3 theme

Make an Xbox 360 theme instead, that'd be better. :p Then again, they are completely replacing it with a new interface so there wouldn't be a point. You'll still be able to use the old blade themes. In fact the new setup looks better with them: http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2008/07/16/5600...

Oh come on bud :) you HAFTA play the original.  I think a lot of the fun will be seeing how things are actually "remade".  Maybe you'll go back and try the original after you beat the remake? It's good that this will drive you to play all of them though.  Best series ever. Some people don...

I just played something that really reminded me of Quest for Glory.  It's a little less Adventure Game than QfG was, but it is very funny and has a nice battle system with "unique" items.  (It's been compared to the Active Turn Based system used by some RPGs.  Your have to wait until your ...

VTM: Bloolines is a great game but it suffers from Troika's usual problem of being slower at programming than the publisher wanted and being forced to release a buggy game, but not given time to work on the patch.  Leaving it up to the fans to fix things.  ToEE, Arcanum, and, to the extent that some...

Wow. Thats pretty good memory you have. Maybe just selective.  I can still play games like Return to Zork and Star Trek:Judgment Rights even though I lost the manuals years ago. (For RTZ, the manual had answeres to two random questions you are asked.  For JR, the manual had a map.  If you don't go ...
