Re: Himalaya Studios Hiring an AGS Programmer

Pardon me for jumping in, but what sort of requirements does the pixel animator position have? I'd assume they're pretty much the same as those of the programmer position, but I wanted to know if there were any other details.

Adventure: All in the Game

Hi everyone, I don't post here very often, but I finished my latest AGS game Adventure: All in the Game a few weeks ago and thought I'd plug it here. Like the first game, it is primarily an adventure game for adventure gamers. You will encounter a lot of familiar locations and characters, though a f...

Re: Sierra Trivia Game

Hmm...about 4.33 out of ten. Could have scored worse, I suppose. My answer for #1 was pretty much a guess. One of the videos that came with the KQ 15th anniversary collection used that phrase about seven times, so I figured that might have been the official slogan. I have no idea about that bonus qu...

Re: Sierra Trivia Game

Nuts, I don't know the answers to half of these, but I'll give it a shot anyhow. 1) What was the theme/slogan for Sierra's 15th Anniversary marketing campaign? I think it was "The Fun has Just Begun", but I doubt it. 2) In some issues of InterAction magazine, there was a rumour-type column...

Re: Recently discovered easter egg in KQ4

Right, and the "rap kq" egg is only in version 2.0 (though the text is still in the source code of later versions of the AGI game).

Re: Whacky Adventure Game Ideas That'll Probably Never Happen

Actually, there already is a Monty Python and the Holy Grail adventure game. I've never played it, but I probably will one of these days. EDIT: As for adventure games that will never get made, I came up with an idea for one that I mentioned in Adventure: The Inside Job: A Zen adventure game. In orde...

Plug for my game - Adventure: The Inside Job

After years of struggling to learn AGS, I've not only mastered the basics, but created my very first game. I released it a week or so ago, and I'm slowly starting to advertise it on the various Sierra forums. Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes of adventure games? No, I'm not talking about th...

Re: Remake Simon the Sorcerer 3D Please!!!

A Simon the Sorcerer 3D remake is already in the works. It's just called Simon the Sorcerer 3, since that's what "Simon the Sorcerer 3D" minus "D" equals. ;)

I thought it was one of the best adventure games I've played in a very long time. Of course, I tend to have a fondness for underrated games for some reason.

Sierra's Resource Files

I might as well start a thread dedicated to this topic, since I've already plugged it once. Sierra's Resource Files is a site dedicated to documenting some of the more interesting discoveries made in the resource files of Sierra's VGA and SVGA adventure games via SCI Viewer . The majority of the fea...

Hypnos, do you mind if I include that image in the QfG section of Sierra's Resource Files? I'll be sure to credit you.

I played the vastly underrated traditional adventure game Toonstruck a while back and liked it a lot. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed an adventure game this much.

Taking this topic out of the gutter (if only for a short while), while the pic does look nice, I noticed that it'd be impossible for an untrained eye to find the bonsai tree you're supposed to save. Dunno how one would do it, but it seems that were that being made for an actual game, it would someh...

I've played the disk version, and he says, "Graham, I've heard from Crispin!" I never could make out exactly what he was saying in the talkie version.

I think I'm having the same problem with the Game DVD Covers page. The thumbnails are only about 3 pixels high. The thumbnails on the Game Backgrounds page look fine, though (as does the majority of the Art Shed). EDIT: I'm having the same problem with the Sierra Covers page, and my resolution is 10...

Eh...if you only quote and respond to the first part of the sentence, it undermines the meaning of the sentence as a whole.

Thank you very much. (Personally, I wish that people would stop saying "I'm sorry you couldn't make it into a game" and just enjoy the story and media as they are. A lot of cancelled fangames just fade into oblivion after their unfortunate end, and I hoped to make this project into somethi...

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I just wanted to mention that upon noticing several glaring errors, I went through this story and gave it yet another thorough editing job. Hopefully this will be the last time I have to do this, and hopefully it should read a little easier now.

The last time I checked, giving one's personal opinion in a calm, intelligent manner and providing thorough information on how the aspect of something can be improved hardly fits the definition of "bashing". And yes, Broomie, the story is rather long. It can also be a bit taxing for dialup...

KQ-related announcement of some magnitude

Hello all, I haven't posted here in quite a while. I just thought I'd come out of hiding to break the news about one of my latest and largest Sierra projects. It's actually been online for several months, but since news of it doesn't seem to have reached this forum, I thought I'd make a post about i...

Hello -- It's been more than a month and I haven't gotten an answer to my question about the inconsistant background sizes I've been encountering. Even though I'm still in a rut now and AGS has been causing me a lot of problems, I'd appreciate it if somebody could please give me a hand with this per...

I'm using 800 by 600.

The only button I could find that stretches the BG is part of the runtime engine, and I can't seem to access that.
