Re: IP Question
As someone with contacts in Activision (but -- disclaimer -- not affiliated with Activision in any way), I can tell you that they are (a) aware of Vivendi's previous arrangements with AGDInteractive; and, (b) do not feel a need to honor previous Vivendi agreements. This, to me, signals a stauncher s...

Re: Hack to re-create the "sell beard" bug, from the EGA version
To be fair, the "sell beard" bug (being able to sell the dervish beard even when you don't have a dervish beard, for an unlimited number of times -- often used to create "startup cash" without having to visit the Moneychanger) is only present in early versions of Quest for Glory ...

Re: LateBlt's Let's Play QfG on Youtube
I don't take much personally anymore, just a little baffled as to why he'd post a video clip on youtube about something he didn't overly enjoy, particularly if a lot of people in the Sierra community tend to respect his opinion. Youtube videos can have a viral effect and being the first QFG2VGA vid...

Re: Missing Thieves' Guild License?
I think you only maintain your license if your actual class is a thief. http://www.agdinteractive.com/forum/images/avatars/moodpics/Nashum.jpg Ah, in the Original QFG2, you retained your license regardless what class you were. I have a Fighter Multiclass with all skills (Thief and Magic), but didn'...

Missing Thieves' Guild License?
Hey there, Everyone, In the classic QFG2, imported thieves would also come in with their Spielburg Thieves' License, but in QFG2VGA, my imported character didn't have his Thieves' Guild License. Is this normal behavior? I enjoy collecting momentos from previous games and carrying them through into t...

Re: ** COURSE 4 IS IN...SESSION. DAMN THIEVES! **
After being overcome with nostalgia I went digging into the boxes of my past which are oddly representative of my time on this earth. I found my original Quest for Glory 1 : So you want to be a Hero? box and it brought a tear to my eye like a mandrake being pulled at midnight. Beautifully said, Sku...

Re: Multiclass character in QFG
That and upon importing, QFG3 will think you're a wizard. Well, that's what happened in our tests with a fighter with all stats and spells. Fortunately, QFG3 allows you to select a class at the start. Quest for Glory 3 is also much more rigid about character roles, making some determinations based ...

Re: Multiclass character in QFG
Simply put, the only multi-classed character anyone should be considering is a Fighter with Magic and Thieving Skills, originally created in Hero's Quest I using the "One Point" new skill purchase trick that LateBlt highlights here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M-jz0Mqgmg Over the cours...

Re: Quest for glory 2 ending without helping tree and making dis
The Julanar (tree) quest is optional in the remake, and even buying the saurus is optional, just like it was in the EGA game. If you didn't buy the saurus, he won't be present at the end ceremony. And the characters who normally commend the Hero for performing actions relating to the saurus/tree wi...

Re: Progress Update Thread (formerly known as quest for glory 2)
The Space Quest 2 remake is coming along very nicely; I saw some YouTube videos from MusicallyInspired and it seems like the creative assets are settling in and it seems like InfamousAdventures will be adding another free remake on their belt.

Re: Progress Update Thread (formerly known as quest for glory 2)
Newsletters used to be a bit like a 4 to 5-page paper about Tierra news and announcements. Not just game announcements, but a lot more. (one of the latter ones had a small part about me earning the status of moderator) Their use kinda declined, but they were a lot broader than journal updates...the...

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?
I still think that despite your opinion of whether piracy is wrong or right, the pirates themselves don't deserve your ire. Why not? Money isn't the only factor involved here. All pirates and freeloaders, regardless of their motivation, are the very types of people who collectively sap away at moti...

Re: Katrina
Hmmm... I just recalled that Mayzun also refers to Ad Avis as 'The Dark One' in the harem at the end of QFG2, so you're probably correct that it's more of a descriptive term. The point I was trying to make was simply that I don't think they had the plot and characters of QFG4 developed very far dur...

The reason the guys on that site (for which I had to remove the link from your post) act so cocky is because they're based in Sweden, whose legal system apparently doesn't recognize the DMCA (I could be wrong on the specifics, but I think that's the gist of it). They hide behind that because they c...

Buy it from us? Heck, they could already take the thing and charge $50 for it if they wanted without ever being legally obliged to give us a cent. I do hope that if this remake helps to increase the sales of Vivendi's collections this time, that they'll at least recognize it as something financiall...

Thanks for the response, AGD2! As a long-time lurker, I'm appreciative that you've come out to essentially confirm my suspicions that QFG2VGA is no longer actively being developed. It sounds like you folks won't be working on it until your commercial game is released; it's an understandable strategy...

QFG2VGA = Vaporware?
Firstly, I'm a big fan of AGDInteractive's work (and have closely followed their development ever since talk of Royal Quest!). However, the lack of any real update on the front page (even if it's just a dev diary saying "Hi, We're alive!") leads me to have a very strong suspicion that this...
