Quest for Glory IV Hex Editing?
Is it as impossible as people say? I have the worst luck with bugs on this playthrough of the series. It turns out there is this intermittent bug where sometimes, if you do not see the domovoi on day 4, you are screwed forever. And I have no save games that early. Would anyone know if I can hex edit...

Re: Ran into a couple of game-breaking bugs. Help?
Yeah, the lack of levitate confused me greatly. It just wasn't available in the store. I think it's the lack of daggers which is causing the problem then, thanks. Now that I've had a bit of time to reflect after the initial frustration, I note that I haven't checked how many daggers I have in a whil...

Ran into a couple of game-breaking bugs. Help?
So for some reason my magic-using thief can't buy levitate. I figured this wasn't so much a problem - it did mean I couldn't finish WIT and get reversal, but on a QfG marathon, skipping WIT is not the kind of thing that will cause me to bail and ask for help in the middle of only the second game of ...

I've done very minimal work with AGS, but a fair amount of programming...If you're still having trouble with the door, you might want to see about whether you can define door_lock globally, rather than as part of the functions. Otherwise, every time the function ends, it throws out the variable, and...

yes, just as decimal is when you start with one and then ten and then one hundred, and are able to make any number just by adding these. You're talking about what the digits stand for, basically... In decimal, they stand for ascending powers of ten, the rightmost being ten to the power of 0 (10^0=1)...

yeah... the hat and jacket are quite clearly in the 2d style, while the face is clearly a photograph. The beard could go either way. I don't know what would be the best way to make it look less like one, maybe drawing over it or just pixelating it... but I really do think that if I was playing this ...

If you want help with PicEdit, I ran into this site when randomly browsing game pages and instantly thought of this thread. I know nothing about the program, or really your knowledge of it, so maybe this is no help, but I thought I'd post it.

I think you'll be fine on your own :) Very excellent cave. You're certainly good with colors! Thanks... took me a lot longer than the forest though, which turned out better anyway... tutorials are cool. I think I've got the hang of it now... As for the colours, they actually looked really messy fo...

Thanks for the feedback... I had a lot of fun tweaking the colour balance with the bushes, I highly recommend that colour balance tool... I was kind of going for a blurry effect on the trees, sort of a 'things are spooky and indistinct at night' feel, but maybe that's just me pulling a typical "...

Corby... you officially 0wn my z0ckz. I logged in for the first time in months just to say that. I'm very happy with this forest scene, from someone who in real life can't even draw a tree. Having given up on AGS games because I can't draw graphics, I now have new hope. My life is changed forever. A...

However, one concern with QFG2 that no one's mentioned: The naming of the hero. There are times in QFG1 and QFG2 especially where characters use the name that you type in for the hero. To get around that, there would have to be two versions of the game so that the voice pack can be fully supported....

cool, cool... if it's contraversial it's always best to stick with the original, I guess. Ah well... Yeah, morlibus, I did the same =P I just found it a drag not importing a 200-in-everything millionaire character into QfG III... QfG II was the only one I couldn't perfect in that respect. But then, ...

Time-based storlyine in QfG II
I'm just wondering whether you are keeping the time-based system of managing the events in QfG II VGA... One thing that detracted a little from QfG II in my eyes was the time-critical storyline (fire elemental on day 4, earth on day 8, air on day 12, or whatever it is... sorry, I used to know the wh...
