With DosBox, you'll have to mount a directory as a drive. So I presume the same applies to D-Fend since it's a GUI for DosBox. you'll probably have to move your SAV file into the same directory where you installed QFG. BTW, this is a VGA remake that runs on Windows. Why would you use DosBox to run it?

I'm playing with Windowed mode and yeah I use the arrow keys to exit. Had to use Windowed mode because in full screen, the display is still skewed like 10% off to the right of the screen despite adjusting it maximum to the left. Can't adjust my screen any further. So I used Erpy's Alt-letterbox mode...

I think he just wants to know why out of curiousity. People has been asking the release date of the game, and it has always been mentioned that "when it's ready". Nobody requested the game to be released on any specific date after it's ready.

I don't see any download links available. This means that you'll probably get the game on Monday since the rest of the world is behind you
