Thanks for sharing that. These are terrific, and I got a real kick out of some of them.

I figured either possibly fish, or a worm. However, I haven't been able to find either of those yet.

Stumped on Finding an Instrument

Okay, I don't really want people to just give me the answer here, but I am pretty stumped. So, I have the Musical Ability spell/potion all brewed up and ready. However, I realized that I never quite bothered to find the poor bard an instrument. I've done some general scouting around Llewydor, but fr...

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this.

So. Any projected estimates for a release date, other than the obligatory "When it's done." ?

Re: Interesting news RE: Quest for Glory 4.5

Was awesome getting this in a PM. Alas, the file won't even extract from the 7zip Self-Extracting program. I'll keep looking at different ways to possibly open it (won't work on my Windows machine, either), but if you have the time to make a zip or a tarball of this, it would be much appreciated. Ed...

Re: Interesting news RE: Quest for Glory 4.5

Ah, yes. There was quite an interesting amount of discussion going on over at the Infamous Adventures boards about this.

I have a lot of spare time on my hands; I really wouldn't mind re-compiling and shifting the code over.

Yep, nothing wrong with doing an already overdone style in adventure gaming. Everyone else is drinking the kool-aid!

Re: what game engine should i use for rts games?

Try out either the Stratagus engine, or the Spring Engine. Both will probably require you to read the documentation, and might not be simple "Editors" so much as tinkering with the code.

Re: Any program to edit VGA SCI games with?

Never fear! I did an article with a link to the source code for SCI Studio VGA! http://www.linux.com/community/blogs/news-you-might-have-missed-freesci-merges-into-the-scummvm-project.html Or, if you want to skip the write-up, and go directly for source (you might need to know how to compile it): ht...

Do what Broomie suggested, but install it on PC hardware via the OSX86 project. You'll turn more heads that way, and save a bunch of cash.

It might not, considering it's being made by Malinche, the very same fellow who made a mess of the AdventureCon.

Re: Mac compatibility

I'm currently working on wrapping the Cider engine and optimizing the package to make it work with QFG2VGA. It'll work on Intel Macs, I know that.

Keep an eye on this thread in case I make progress.

Re: Package for Mac? (Via Cider emulation?)

I meant that I'd get their permission, upload it somewhere, and they'd throw up a link on their site for it.

The whole point of Cider is to make it easier to package games, and I'd totally give them credit for everything.

Package for Mac? (Via Cider emulation?)

Hey all. I currently am running Mac OSX Leopard, and am looking for a way to play this using Cider. Currently, I'm looking through some guides and reading through the setup configs. Anyways, would it be alright with the AGD's and crew if I packaged an "Unofficial" Mac port of QFG2VGA? I ha...

Man, I loved this game as a kid. I'd play the battle mode with my dad for hours.

I remember rediscovering this when I got into Linux.

It's so good to know that someone bothered to remake this!

I'd recommend you play it before the remake comes out. It'll give you more reason to gasp in wonder at things in the remake.

Also, I'd say it's the best one out of the series.

Anyway: my answer.

Chuck Norris. Hands down.

Instead of waterskins, he'd merely have whiskey.
