Re: Censored?

Censored? Come on, your audience has grown older :-). You don't have to care if some prude US chains refuse to carry your game. Make a game worth playing for adults, not for 8-12 years old. Sven Luckily, Erpy went on record as saying the censored bar was only for the teaser, not in the full game: T...

The trouble is that many of it's puzzles wouldn't translate very well to point-n-click. For example, when you're in the dark, how would you convey the sense of four misisng senses, but one that isn't. Or, to take another example, enjoying the Vogon's poetry without making the puzzle solution complet...

My personal gut feeling is that it's going to be something a bit simpler, such as an early release of a QFG2VGA manual before the actual game is released, letting us drool at all the included screenshots, and getting a feel for what the controls will be. If you think about it, it's unlikely they'd h...

Planescape Torment was a bloody brilliant game. It had memorable characters (who can't love a wisecracking floating skull), a really deep storyline, and real freedom for the player to play however they wanted - a lot  of care had been done to create quests and allow the player to play as an evil or ...

Considering how generous AGDI has been by releasing these games for free, I decided to contribute something to the community as well. But since I'm not an artist, I eventually settled on starting a project to disassemble the old adventure game "Lure of the Temptress" and create a ScummVM m...

You know, it wouldn't necessary be too unbalancing to allow the thief to break into many houses. All you need to do is vary the amount the thief can find on a particular breakdown. If all he got from a breakdown was a few coins, it'd give thieves the chance to improve their skills without quickly ma...

Corsair, no. As I said, Radiant's remake is indefinitely on hold. I personally hope he'll return to it, since his remake had some excellent new puzzles, fleshed out the story, and got rid of what always pissed me off the most - the tight timeframe for getting everything done.

Radiant's remake is also, alas, on hiatus, and I'm not sure when and if he'll be returning to work on it. On the bright side, his remake was also getting the VGA treatment, although he later decided to complete the game development using lo-res graphics first, and then look for help in replacing the...

There isn't a lantern, but rather a locatable spell you can use. Just be kind to animals, and they'll be kind in return.

AGDI have previously said that they won't create a QFG forum until the game has actually been released, since any speculation/discussions until then can be handled by the General Forum. And they've also stated that the beta version will be ready when it's ready.

Hey, pretty good. There's certainly no shame in doing it that way - not all of us are good artists (I know I'm certainly not). Admittantly, it would be better from a legal standpoint to have any game you write completely free of copyrighted material, but if reusing existing game backgrounds lets you...

Just because it may not give you points, it would still be nice if thieves had the option to break into various houses within the city. Perhaps have one or two generic house room screens, with a couple of common places to get money from, which the thief can randomly enter if he tries house doorways....

One of the things I like about Radiant's remake so far is that things are more sensible now. That is, nothing is just lying around the countryside with no particular reason why it would be there. Some of the items have new puzzles associated with getting them, and at the same time make sense if you ...

Actually, I like the original better - the shaded version makes the back of the front trees too dark. The original more plainly showed that the trees were cut-outs with buttressing.

Thats an understatement. I'm definitely in the hate category - I've tried starting it several times, but I always get bored with it before long and give up again. If only they hadn't been so gung-ho on making it in 3D.
