Password woes?
I just tried to log into the forum and my password wasn't recognized. I reset my password and now it seems to be working just fine, but I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issues.

Re: Remake Comparisons
I just want to go on record that I don't have a problem with the green pinball. I realize it's an unlikely deus ex machina, but it really does help explain Daventry's restoration in KQ5. My opinion is that the concept works, but the execution not so much. I think I would have preferred a more mysti...

Re: An unorthodox way to resolve the QFG 3 points problem
Personally, I don't care about getting full points. So the programmers screwed up...big deal. Besides, I've always been more obsessive-compulsive about maxing my stats than maxing my puzzle points...

No, it isn't; I got the klutz award without breaking the chair.I am not sure if breaking baby Behr’s chair is also one of the actions for Klutz.

I absolutely love this theme! It looks almost exactly how it looked back when I first joined in January 2002 (man, that makes me feel old). Nostalgia FTW!

Re: Easter Eggs / Sierra (and other) references in KQ3R
Oh, duh. Yeah, that makes sense. Initially, I thought it must be Lolotte, but then the reference to her female "enemy" threw me off, since Rosella is at this time about to become dragon food in Daventry rather than traipsing around Tamir. But now I realize it must be a reference to Genesta...

Re: Easter Eggs / Sierra (and other) references in KQ3R
There's several subtle musical references to other Sierra titles in the soundtrack besides the one you mentioned. http://www.agdinteractive.com/forum/images/avatars/moodpics/Nashnorm.jpg Like the KQ5 theme during the orb-healing sequence. Also: Would anyone like to explain the note in Manannan's de...

Re: Music spell assistance
Thank ya! I think the reason it stuck so firmly in my mind is that the first time I ever played through Kq5, I accidentally used the hand instead of the arrow and I hadn't saved my game since before the desert trek. Grrr! Funny how well we remember the things that piss us off...

Re: Music spell assistance
Au contraire. Think back to Kq5, standing before the witch in the Dark Forest. You need to select the genie bottle and present it to the witch. She opens the bottle, and gets trapped inside for a thousand years. The Dark Forest is liberated! Yay! But what happens if you accidentally click the hand ...

My thoughts on King's Quest 3: Redux *Spoilers Ahead!!*
Ok, I finally finished redux! It took longer than it should've, since I had to carve out small periods of playtime in the midst of a busy schedule. Since a few of these post-playthrough reviews are popping up on here, I thought I'd post mine as well before they become too plentiful to read. :P To av...

Re: Music spell assistance
I strongly disagree with that notion. I've always hated the idea of having only a hand and an eye in the inventory GUI. All of Sierra's VGA games had an eye (for examining the obejct), a hand (for using or manipulating the item), and an arrow (for selecting the item). The difference is important. I...

Re: About the map
That explanation works for me. Good point about a magical teleportation map being something of a redundancy for Manannan, given his teleportation ability. Maybe the map is left over from the days before he learned how to do that (presumably, it constitutes some pretty advanced spellcasting). Thanks ...

Re: About the map
Perhaps the map fills in places that you're personally familiar with, rather than places you've taken it to. The pirate may have been to various places in Llewdor before and knows what the area looks like, while Gwydion has never been to these places in person, only ever having looked at them from ...

And here I thought you were going to delete the game in a fit of anger. What happened?
At least in the other 2 versions of the game, the fly/eagle spell was used like it should have been. So much for me being able to finish this game. Just like your QFG2 game, uninstall, delete!

This game is horrible! Very frustrating! 8 years and all you get is horrible stupid puzzles, lost, and crap! Don't download. Waste of time! Of course, you weren't actually waiting in anticipation for eight years, right? Unless I'm horribly misinformed, your experience is as follows: You found out o...

Hmm...tough question. I went with these three, in this order: 1.) King's Quest 4 (Since it's now the only KQ game without a VGA/SVGA version; Huzzah!) 2.) Police Quest 2 (I was once part of team that intended to do such a remake, but that team ended up falling apart and nothing substantial came out ...

I haven't had an opportunity to play the game yet, but seeing as how the soundtrack has had rave responses so far, I'd thought I'd ask anyway: is this soundtrack going to be available for download at some point as KQ2's and QFG2's are?

Re: This game is way too difficult
Geeze. Not to be rude, but why bother playing a puzzle-driven game if you find challenges to be so frustrating? Why not just pop in a DVD, sit back, and enjoy an unfolding narrative without expending any effort whatsoever? No walkthrough required.
