Alistair - nope :b. I did that background from scratch and didn't reference KQ material at all, so any apparent similarities must be by coincidence.

There aren't any walking dead situations as far as we know; the game is very non-linear and there are often more than one solution to many puzzles.

There isn't a speech pack, and I doubt there will be.

From the FAQ
We originally intended a speech pack, but we had trouble getting the necessary voices. Most people who auditioned were teens or students, and several of the characters in the game are middle aged, or even ageless faeries.

Go to Winsetup (in the game directory where you installed it), then uncheck the 'Run in window' option. It might look better to use the 'Force alternate letterbox resolution' option, depending on your monitor.

For the most part, I don't really paint like that anymore, and there are some things that aren't correct or could be better, like colour choice. I'll have to update when it's summer hol...

Technically you don't really have to use layers either, though they make things much easier to fix up/redo and/or remove if necessary. What I personally do is just block out everything in one layer with a big brush, then gradually refine everything down (Though I do use layers, but in a very disorde...

Yep, someone decided it would be cool to blank the forums.

Our progress isn't going to be affected by it though, as we've got copies of the important stuff, and the main things lost are the to-do lists.

It is possible to pixel a whole vga background, but generally it is either digitally painted, or collaged with textures or other images, as using pixel art technique would take a lot of time. Or you could actually paint the background using traditional medium, and then scan and resize it and edit it...

Yeah, but it's not exactly promising that the copyright at the bottom of the page is still dated last year, though... :/ Just because we don't update the website does not mean that we aren't working on it ;) If you want updates, I suggest you check here: http://www.bigbluecup.com/yabb/index.php?top...

He just doesn't exactly have a good track record of completing games. Well, that's not true. He's worked on quite a few games before. Have you tried META or MOTLPAA?  :evil (not to mention the other non-AGS games he has created) Anyway, A Tale of Two Kingdoms is nearing completion. The whole team w...

The GIMP is good, once you get the hang of it... and it's free

If you want to pay for a paint program though, there's Adobe Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, Corel Photo-paint, etc. But Gimp can do the same sort of things.

It doesn't really matter how you go about doing the bushes as long as it achieves what you want ;) Anyway, one way you could do it from scratch is to define the shape of the bush with a solid colour, then add shading to give it volume and define where it is bushier and such, then use different shade...

The texture of the grass looks much better in my opinion :) It's a bit bright and oversaturated though. When I did the mountain I chose a smaller brush. For 320x200 size it would be a 1 pixel. I'd put down single brush strokes of one grey, so at first it looks messy. Then go over the other areas wit...
