Re: Hey there, old timers. (And everyone else.)

Hello all. It's been a while since my last visit as well, but saw this post and thought I'd say hi, and that I hope everyone is doing well.

That's awesome. I know I'm digging up an older post by replying here... but I haven't been here in ages, so for a lot of these I'm seeing them for the first time today. :)

Re: Duke Nukem Forever coming May 3rd! New Trailer!

It looks awesome... and is certainly helping to inspire me to either get a new console, or a new computer. What can I say, I am really behind on the times. I still remember playing the very first Duke Nukem, it was a lot of fun. :)

Congrats! Having your own house is a lot of work, but definitely worth it in the long run.

I still lurk, but just don't have the time I used to. I'm here more often than I post, usually just stop in and have a look around, then off I go.

Re: Average Age

I was going to click 20-24, but then I realized I'm actually 25. I am still 21 at heart, though 8)). Yeah, that's what's confusing about this poll. I'm physically much older than I am mentally... so after all these years, I *still* don't know how to answer. Perhaps I should just take an average of ...

Re: Ebaying QFG Question

I agree with MusicallyInspired. You have to be very careful when making copies of games other than to store for yourself as your personal backup copy. When you get into selling games, selling a copy or copies of a game can get you into legal trouble. I understand why you would offer to do that, as y...

Re:  Random rants go here.

I've been around, but haven't had much to say lately. Been staying quiet and just checking in for updates on QFG2VGA progress. I must say I'm impressed, things are really coming along. Between that and work, I haven't had much time to ponder what clever things I might say, so haven't been posting al...

Re: World of Warcraft

I have avoided it like it is the plague. I'll still play the older Warcraft games (mostly III, but sometimes even I & II just for the heck of it), but I just don't have the time to play World of Warcraft. It looks great though.

Re: Does Quest for Glory 5 Suck?

I didn't really like QFG5 at first, but after playing a bit I got used to it. It took me quite a while to get into it, but it's really not all that bad. I liked how they really made large portions of the game unique to each character class. It is a different style, yes, but sometimes you just have t...

I can't get QfG5 to run at all on this computer, though.  It's worse than QfG4 in that respect. Indeed.  QfG5 is a challenge to get running on newer machines with newer Operating Systems. I had to play with the compatibility mode settings for a while until I found the right combination.  I'm runnin...

QFG4 in DOS mode didn't run too badly on a computer such as a 486 DX 33MHz, but as computers became faster, timing bug issues started to come out of the woodwork.  Nothing that the NewRisingSun patches cannot fix now, but before finding those it did become frustrating trying to play QFG4 on a Pentiu...

Well, I don't have stats to back up my theory that "Hero's Quest" is harder to find than "Quest for Glory I EGA". The QFG Anthology and QFG Collection Series both come with "Quest for Glory I EGA".  I know that "Hero's Quest" was only sold up until the point o...

The original Hero's Quest game would be hard to find now I would think.  It was the original version, but I believe after a legal issue with Milton Bradley which has a board game by the name "Hero Quest", Sierra changed the name to Quest for Glory.  This was during the time when they were ...

I voted 10... but I would say AT LEAST 10.   I can not estimate how many times I've played through the other games in the series (including QFG2EGA), but I would think that for QFG1 it is probably over 100 times.  What can I say, I am a Quest for Glory maniac.  To me, this series never grows old and...
