Re: Soundtrack available?
Wow MI, sorry to hear of the circumstances of the data loss, and also sorry that you feel you have to make justifications here just because a person took the wrong approach about getting free content. Mistakes do happen, especially when technology is involved, and we'd be well served to remember the...

Re: More trouble with spells
In addition to constantly being told that I'm trying to "do my own spells" (which I addressed in another question), I cannot add the dog fur to the bowl to complete the "understanding language of creatures" spell. It kills me every time I try. I'm clicking with the proper icon t...

Re: So... about The Father's plans... *spoilers*
First time poster, long time AGD fan, yadda yadda yadda. So, I just finished the game after learning about the black statue in the treasure chest; which is apparently the item that The Father was searching for. But now that its been smashed to pieces; which The Father doesn't seem too happy about, ...

Re: Soundtrack available?
Oh, you're right! My mistake, the druids scene was where I remembered it from. The minotaur theme was actually completely different, starting with stringent matador-like strums when the minotaur detects you, then becoming more upbeat as you're backed up against the fire pit. KQ6 had an incredible sc...

Re: Soundtrack available?
Patiently waiting for the soundtrack as well :) Also, in addition to MI's post under PAW's playthrough detailing the influence of various KQ pieces on the score, I just noticed that the music in the scene when you're cornered by the Yeti in his cave is very similar to the Minotaur's Lair theme from ...

Re: This game is way too difficult
Just wanted to add that some of the randomly triggered events/schedules are frustrating for newbie players... like the Behr family trips with the going/returning/home/mama in garden states (especially annoying when you drop by to grab a quick porridge refill with the timer on red), or the treehouse ...

Re: Alexander's Tavern Song
Yeah, this was just a little cross-over/nod back to Romancing the Stones. I was wondering how long it'd be before someone noticed it. I commented on that in my "impressions" post from a few months ago. The musical cue is very memorable, and made even more easily recognizable by having had...

Re: The scene where Manannan is changed into a cat is EPIC!
Does anyone else love that scene? "You'll pay for this, GWYDION!!!" *turns into cat* *Alexander picks up cat* "My name...is ALEXANDER." *plops cat onto the floor* I have that part of the game especially saved so I can watch it again and again. I agree, I love the changes AGDI ma...

Re: Caption's Office
Then you probably haven't done the last thing he asked you to do. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong but it's supposed to work when he tells you what to do, and then you go do it. After he tells you to "go dust in the captain's cabin", the game will let you enter the captain's cabin and ...

Re: Caption's Office
I don't remember the exact order of the chores, but like I told the guy who asked in the other thread, you need to go back to the first mate (the chubby dude with the bandanna) in the screen with the bunk beds & rowboat when you finish each chore, and he'll give you the next one. The chores are ...

Re: First Time Ever Playing This Game
There was a mountain goat and an owl just before the Yeti encounter but neither of them could be talked to, which was weird because I definitely had earplugs then, unless the pirates took them out. The owl was an EE reference to a later game in the original series by Sierra, and something of a lege...

I'm stuck on the pirate ship and I'd like to get my stuff back...but the captain won't leave his quarters. Is there something I'm missing? I've gone in and out of the screen a ton of times, and I've done my chores and listened to the rats. Help? Check back with the first mate (in the screen with th...

A few impressions after finishing the game. (long & gushing)
Hi all. I've somewhat belatedly made my first full playthrough of the game, and having just finished, I'd just like to thank all you people behind this incredible work of art and tell you what an exhilirating ride it's been. I used to play the original occasionally as a child but never actually got ...

Re: The "Thanks" thread!
Just completed a runthrough for the first time in years and had to say thanks again for a masterful and insanely fun remake! I played a fighter turned pallie at the end, 547 puzzle points, just shy of the perfect score, though the cheat mode wouldn't have been unlocked since I played intuitively and...

QFG1VGA bug - disoriented cursor & can't target brig. leader
Hi all, I'm replaying QFG1VGA, on DosBox, and I'm stumped by a bug in the brigand leader's office. I think it may have to do with a known issue I encountered earlier in the game: upon picking up some loot, I got a "carrying more than you can" message that overlapped with the loot message, ...

Re: Future Remake: Part Deux
Thats about the only negative thing that came out for me when finishing KQ3 Redux, which was the father story not being concluded. I really hope there is a way to continue the games commercially because I want to know how the Father story eventually concludes!! Yeah, me too! On the slight chance th...

Re: Future Remake: Part Deux
My choices would have to be: KQ4, Camelot, and... I guess Gold Rush, esoteric and less popular a choice though it is, compared to the more prolific Sierra sagas. KQ4 is an obvious choice being the remaining un-remade chapter of the KQ saga, and a solid and rewarding game to tweak and enrich through ...

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history
One thing I found interesting is that one of the Simbani Elders briefly mentions the Hyenamen, but there are no such creatures to be found like that in QFG3. Perhaps a monster that was originally intended for the game that didn't make it? Could be. Or maybe just an intentionally throwaway line abou...

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history
Wow!! :eek Just learned of the news upon visiting the site after a long absence, thinking AGDI was now defunct, the team having moved on to other projects under the HS brand. Had to re-login for the first time in years just to register my shock and utter delight at this project being released, not t...

Re: Can't save the game
Thanks for the advice guys. :) AGD2, I'd already reinstalled once before posting this thread, but the issue remained. Gronagor, thanks, didn't know running the game through a save file was possible. Still, manually loading and relocating a single save file each time is a bit of a bother. The agssave...

Re: Can't save the game
No, I'm on XP SP2 actually. Ah OK, found a single saved game (figures as only one is ever saved each time I run the game) in the "My Saved Games" folder under My Documents. Still can't seem to make any use of it... the save dialogue doesn't access that folder, nor does moving the file into...

Re: The Father (Spoilers)
It's actually revealed (or at least hinted at, to be more precise) within KQ2VGA itself. No need to go as far as the KQ3 remake or the Silver Lining project (which are made by other teams, not AGDI, so not much chance of them incorporating such a unique story element into their games). Just research...
