Re: What's your combat key layout?
Instead of WASD, I I use ESDF, I created back in the DOOM 1 days, long before people started to use WASD, and I've stuck with it, because since my pointer finger is on the "F" key, the little tab in it reminds me my hand is correct. E=Forward D= Backward S=Left F=Right 9=Slash 0=Stab R=Raz...

Re: Concerning QfG1VGA imports
You are both right. In QFG1VGA, you have to throw as many daggers as you can, then use the hand icon on the ground, this retrieves your daggers before combat. If you engage in combat before, then you loose them. Because of this, I just carry rocks and hurrle them before combat. The same goes with dr...

Re: Ebaying QFG Question
Erpy: Yes. I'm going to sell the original floppies, plus box + manuals, but include a burned copy of the floppies onto CD. Then again, it may be easier to just not burn it, if someone wants it they more than likely want it as a collection or can find an old machine to extract the data. MusicallyInsp...

Ebaying QFG Question
So here is the scoop. I own two retail version of the entire QFG Series. Heros Quest Quest for Glory I Quest for Glory II Quest for Glory III Quest For Glory IV Quest for Glory V Quest for Glory Collection Since I'm getting more broke due to school, I'm thinking of ebaying the 1st 4 games, since I o...

The dazzle spell also has a spell duration where it wears off after a while (dependent on the spell skill), but in addition to that attacking said monster causes them to advance again towards you. But unlike calm, dazzle can be casted multiple times. (truth be told, I already think it's one bloody ...

-There seems to be a few bugs when calming/dazzling multiple jackalmen when they are chasing you in the open desert. For example, I made it so 3 of them were chasing me. I immediately cast Dazzle so that they froze in a formation where all 3 jackals were arranged standing neatly in a single-file ro...

There's no way to 'adjust' your hero's profession after importing, but I don't think it'll be necessary anyhow. When the .sav file gets imported, it looks at the character's base class, so his stats don't factor into it. Hybrid characters will still be imported as their base character class. I'm go...

I was able to maximize a fighter, to paladin and a wizard easily to 200, including the wizards spells. You just need LOTS of pills, esp mana. Take one, cast tons of spells. For target spells, I casted them just in front of me to shorten the animation time. The thief, I would just bring his climbi...

It *would* be really nice of have an option where the fighter wouldn't equip his shield. Ie, he wouldn't drop it, just leave it strapped to his back to let his left hand free to cast. I always thought it was a cool idea to need 1 hand free for magic. The other idea, being able to buy a sword as a ...

Wow.. Voice Over!!!
Wait, QFG2VGA is going to have Voiceover? I thought due to the amount of text, voice over wouldn't be added for a long time, if at all. If so, that's awesome. I remember finding this site, maybe 3 or 4 years ago. I tried playing KQ, which were remade very well. Well enough, that they are worth b...

Anyone here who has imported characters from: QG1->QG2->QG3->QG4-QG5 knows that your character is really rocked. You can defeat almost any monster, you don't have to buy spells since you already know most of them, and your skills are very high. The only realistic way, is to have a new hero *or* hav...

Testing Phase
I've been paying relative close atention to the forums, and I had hoped to do some testing, but I guess that the polls have closed. I'm curious however to see how many Phases testing will be. If I remember, it was decided that by having different phases of testing: "Alpha 1, Alpha 2, Alpha 3&...

Top 10 Things to Do Why You Wait for QFG2VGA
Top 10 Things to Do Why You Wait for QFG2VGA, Do *NOT* treat this thread as whining/moaning why QFG2VGA isn't out yet, but instead a fun distraction with light sarcasm. 10 Read the Journal's Log for any signs of a change or release date. 09 Get pissed at someone who posted a comment that QFG2VGA i...

Some of QfG4's bugs are also related to the CPU speed. So if you played it when it released (and thus had a slow computer), you might not have run into those problems. Sweet... I can't remember if I still had my 486sx 25mhz or if I upgraded to my Pentium 133mhz.... those were the days. Instead of...

I must have done everything correctly.. I remember playing as a Paladin, and I did get the original release because I pre-ordered from Sierra themselvse.... Quest for Glory 4's release was an absolute nightmare. I was always curious about all these bugs, because I remember playing it on my old system, I never ran into a bug. Of course I used the Floppy Disk version, no voices [they didn't release the CD version until later]. I finished the game as a ...

If this doesn't work, you should be able to get a used computer with a ~500MHz CPU for about $50 - maybe less or even free, if you are lucky. Even considering your financial situation, I would think it's possible for you to put a few dollars aside every month ($5? $10?) and save up for one, so you'...

It wouuld be really awesome if phase I of Beta Testing began July-Aug of 2005. If I remember correctly, the QFG2VGA Beta testing will be in 2-3 phases of development, to allow fresh blood to review the game and look for errors. This way when a team tires and has less input the next can carry it of...
