Cool, thanks!
I know this is rather belated, but could you share any further hints as to whom this person might be?

Re: Quest for Glory II demo
Sorry for the double post, but I've got more stuff to share. Here's a version of Iblis rising from the demo where I've taken away the demo's text box. http://home.comcast.net/~ervind/qg2demo6g.png Here's that background at daytime from the demo's resource files (at left), compared with the same back...

Quest for Glory II demo
So I was browsing the ScummVM Game Demos section and found some early non-interactive demos Sierra put out for Hero's Quest I and Quest for Glory II . The Quest for Glory II demo is really interesting, having a lot of alternate and early graphics. Here's a selection of its more notable screens, comp...

Try to pick up the lute, then talk to the barmaid until she proposes a method for you to earn it.

As I said on the Telltale forums, I think the title (judging from the photos) is Pocketful of Roses--a reference to this old children's rhyme.

From what I've heard you also have to carry a cleaning implement when you reach the end. Perhaps one taken from a nautical environment.Chyron_8472 wrote:How does one get Roger Wilco?

Daventry the Wasteland
So one thing I've noticed is that in KQ3 Redux, Daventry is FAR more devastated than it seemed in the original KQ3 or IA's remake. It's basically a lifeless, rocky, desert wasteland that's on fire. Pretty much Hell on Earth. I wonder what made you guys decide to depict its misfortunes in such an ext...

Re: Telltale to Reboot King's Quest
I was talking about drowning in the first game. I'm not really sure what the second easter egg he's talking about is. Since, yeah, you don't die from the rubber tree thing, and you can't drown in MI2. There is a "death" in MI2 when you wait ten minutes while Guybrush is hanging over the a...

Re: code
If you read the book you found, you should've got the answer. Reading the book is done by clicking the hand cursor on the book from the inventory view. It took me some time to figure this out, as I expected the eye icon would let me read the book. In KQ6 you had to use the HAND cursor to read a boo...

Do you really think the wizard would eat a cookie with cat hairs embedded in it? Why don't you disguise the cookie in another food item so he won't notice?

Re: Remake Comparisons
I just want to go on record that I don't have a problem with the green pinball. I realize it's an unlikely deus ex machina, but it really does help explain Daventry's restoration in KQ5. My opinion is that the concept works, but the execution not so much. I think I would have preferred a more mysti...

Re: Missing a point 209/210 [SPOILER]
That's not the point that I'm missing. What do you mean "spy on the bandits"? You need to go where they hang out in a way they can't see you. You can hear them talk about the hideout. Isn't that required to win, because you can't get to the hideout until you hear that conversation? No. Yo...

Re: KQ3 Redux suddenly a 'security risk'?
Are you using Norton Antivirus? I had this same problem. A good workaround for Norton is this: Try to start KQ3 using the game launcher icon. When Norton tells you it's deleted the file, click on its message to get more details. Note down the path at which the KQ3 autorun.exe file is generated. This...

Re: Music spell assistance
Au contraire. Think back to Kq5, standing before the witch in the Dark Forest. You need to select the genie bottle and present it to the witch. She opens the bottle, and gets trapped inside for a thousand years. The Dark Forest is liberated! Yay! But what happens if you accidentally click the hand ...

Re: Music spell assistance
The crucial point, though, was not that AGDI designed its inventory interface differently than Sierra (which it didn't, as has been shown). Rather, some people perceived (and it's their opinion, not a statement of fact) that the deaths in KQ3 Redux spellcasting that result from clicking the hand on ...

I always found it funny that in KQ5 Alexander is basically wearing Graham's outfit, just with a palette swap and minus the feathered blue cap. No wonder they chose to get a different costume for him in KQ6. Interesting that there, he's basically wearing a variant of an Elizabethan-style men's double...

Re: Music spell assistance
Again, though, when have you ever used the hand icon to "pick up" an item already in your inventory in a past Sierra game? I can understand that the death thing gets annoying...but the spellmaking process is supposed to be touchy and I can't really get past mixing up the arrow selector an...

I voted for KQ4, SQ3, and Conquests of Camelot. Though I must say, I think even the fabulous JP Selwood would face a challenge in recreating the Camelot backgrounds. That game had some STUNNING dithering work!

Re: UGLY SIDE of KQIII Redux
Because the thread is here... My tiny nit pick: Rosella sounded a lot older than 18. The actress had a great speech pattern and inflections, but her voice was so mature it made me do a double take. In comparison, Alexander sounded very youthful, but just the voices made the twins seem years apart i...

I haven't dusted the captain's room, and if I go in there, he makes me walk the plank. And I figured I'd need the duster as it is in his room. Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history
Awesome photo, Navy! Neat, I hope the Restore/Play/Help (etc.) buttons remain on the main screen. I think that is a little cleaner than the KQ2+ method of showing the intro screen and then jumping to another screen. Totally agree! I felt the same way. When we were working on the game, I really want...
