Re: QFG 5 save games

You could always just play the movie directly. If it loads, then it's not quicktime. If it doesn't... :). One could even just try to convert that scene into a more recent version.

Re: How do you improve Intelligence and luck

If you aren't a spellcaster, then intelligence is a wasted skill. It doesn't benefit you an iota. If you ARE a spellcaster, just cast spells.

Re: Progress Update Thread (formerly known as quest for glory 2)

AGD2 is doing one final playthrough reporting last-minute issues and for the first time in my life, I'm keeping up with him.

On "Final" playthrough? That's indicative. Makes one think that release IS imminent.

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?

TV ratings are done by people who agree to install a piece of hardware to show what their watching, or else through test groups who travel to a place to watch a show and give feedback. I doubt it would matter if every person other than these groups downloaded every show from torrent sites. They just...

Bed bugs live in temperate climates, which neither Shapier nor Rasier are. No worries.

I actually had some troubles with the text parser. Playing through as a thief, I was trying to rob a house in Raseir, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get through the window and bring the rope with me. Unless that wasn't even how to get in it in the first place... In any case thoug...

You can export from any game to any game ahead in the series. 1 to 2, 1 to 3, 2 to 5, however you like.  Just can't go backwards.

QFG 4 requires a cd to play.  You must configure DOXbox for this.  you could also just hack the batch file that checks for the cdrom to always work.

Remember that QFG 1,2,3 & 4 (except for the windows version) are all dos based gamed.  The floppy drive is "a:". The Harddrive is "C:".  If you want to put it on the hard drive, have it go to "c:".  also, you could do "c:\sierra\qg2"

Hmmm. Didn't work.

I guess there's something with my setup.  Maybe a service, or a theme.  I turned off the vista theme, tried it that way.  I reduced the  resolution, nothing.  Perhaps it's only going to work with particular geetups.

I have VMware, I was just hoping to not install another OS... oh well.  VMware Server is free, and does most everything the average user could want... I can load saved games, I can move around in said saved games.  I can't use the mouse, as it'll dump me out.  I can't use the standard number buttons...

Quest for Glory V in Vista...

There is woefully inadequate information on a Google search, so I present my problem here, in hopes of a solution. I can't seem to get QFG5 to run on Vista.  I've tried just the regular install, I've tried version 1.2, and I've tried the win2k patch.  I can get into the game, just not play it.  It s...

Insulting, insinuating you can buy a promise.  If you want to buy Al Elmo, then buy Al Elmo, don't buy it so you can get the free prize.   And by doing so you insinuate you wouldn't buy the game without the free prize.  The prize is free.  ADGI isn't making it for you, they're making for them.  They...

I like him.  My suggestion would be to make the arms more silvered, for chain mail.  Otherwise his shirt is clashing with his pants, that's no good. :)

Yeah, wait till they think they've got all the bugs, then they'll do beta testing so they KNOW they've got the bugs.  Then we get a happy pretty bug free game.  Much better than the game I made.  It's still alpha.  Never going to get out of alpha either.

What the heck, you want something to waste hours on, try http://amnwaterman.tripod.com/edricksquest.zip.  I made it with RPG Maker 2003.  It's a prequil to Dragon Warrior 1, looks a lot like it, and I think it could be fun.  Full playable, start to end.  Though it's...not perfect, no crashing horibl...

SCI Studio...

Here's a fun thought, SCI Studio 4 (or VGA I think) may be able to take just about any SCI0, 01, or 1 resource, which can then be edited and recompiled as it were to make a completely happy VGA windows compatible game.

I think.  :) Here's hoping.
