Re: Should Space Quest 6 be remade?

The graphics and the (..Yuck!..) Voice acting was much better in SQ5. SQ4 and 5 had a well designed, clean interface. The game itself was so-so.
Creating a new Space Quest would be better indeed, but it's a tall order!

Re: Which comic? Spiderman? Fantastic Four? Manga?

I'd vote for the Incal series by Moebius/ Jodorowsky. Yoko Tsuno by Roger Leloup is also one of my favorites.
Next would be several Manga Titles.

Re: Favorite Tolkien Story/Stories

The Silmarillion is a bit hard to read. But the mythology is great. The world being made by playing a symphony. Such a beautiful thought... The story of Lúthien Tínuviel and Béren is great as well. It reads like a complete book of fairy tales. The Lord of the Rings shines when it comes to coherence...

Re: Who was the most evil of all?

Baba Yaga has style and wisdom. (I agree on that with the main character of "the Principles of Evil", another recent adventure) She's my favorite fairy tale villain because she is so complex. The Baba Yaga in QFG1 has sadly been portrayed as a flat character. The real depth of BY becomes a...

Re: Which adventure game did you enjoy the most?

My first adventure that I've ever played is simply called "Adventure", played on my dad's shiny new IBM Transportable XT. The first Sierra adventure game I've ever played was Leisure Suit Larry I SQ4 is the greatest Sierra game for me, with KQ7 a close second. The best adventure by Lucasar...

Re: The "Thanks" thread!

Thanks AGD! The good: The alleys are great with such an eye for detail I might even find my way in the old alley-system without a map by remembering all the different doors, plants and garbage. The look has been vastly improved and the feel has stayed the same (that's a positive thing!) The backgrou...

Well, in the mean time, more bugs are being squashed, making the final release even greater!
I have confidence that Vivendi will allow this release, but I'm willing to wait.

Does this mean you have squashed all release-stopping bugs? :D That would be really good news. about VU: Well, they had more than enough time(no pun intended) to send a cease and desist notice. The approval of the grand lady of Sierra herself  won't hurt either... This might actually rekindle the in...

Does that factor in answering all the people who keep asking "is it done yet?" :P Probably not. Most of the people who ask this now clearly didn't find their way to this thread. If they do read this thread and still whine on, they're not even worth  the bandwidth used to enter this reply...

Loved playing both Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption and VTM Bloodlines. The last mentioned has excellent graphics, multiple-linear gameplay and a heck of a story. More importantly, this game has a lot of "grey area" between good and evil which makes for interesting gameplay. There are qu...

I loved GK1, but I hate action scenes in which you have to be lightning-quick with an awkward interface in order to avoid sudden death. SQ4 & SQ5 also have some of those sequences. Somehow they don't fit in with my sense of computer adventuring. The background research was great. I don't know wh...

Thanks for those updates, they provide more insight in the arduous and sometimes tedious work you have to do in order to squash the bugs. When you are not the one who has to fix it, it's entertaining to read them. I'm into some bugfixing myself, so I really appreciate the trouble you're going throug...

Dear GuJiaXian, Thanks so much for sharing this. I loved most of the games by the Coles, but when it comes to humor, I like the Space Quest series better. "With a heavy dash of post-apocalyptic seasoning" (excerpt from Space Quest IV) I guess I'm more into black humor and Puck-like pranks ...

Dear AGD enthousiasts, My ISP rarely causes problems with the througput of files. It may be that one of the routers on the way experienced a...

Can't complete downloads from KQ1 or KQ2. What's wrong?

Dear Webmaster Starting from about a week ago, I tried to download the new versions of KQ1 & 2. The downloads get stuck at 6% First they continue at a nice pace, but I can't seem to get past the 1.2 MB barrier. I tried this from two computers (Mac & Windows), From Italy and the Netherlands. ...
