Assuming DosBox was written in C++, it would be fairly easy to port it to C++.Net Compact Framework, which will allow it to run full blown DOS apps on any Pocket PC Mobile 2005 device, meaning PDAs and cell phones. Unfortunetly, the average cell phone running Java lacks the power, and more important...

Lambonius , I do have to agree with you, overall there was few rewards for playing anything else than a fighter in the whole QfG series (I never beat QfG4 and didn't play QfG5), generally speaking.  They could have done more with the Thief and Magician class. ex: as a thief, fighting doesn't make a...

Hmmm.... come one guys. Be positive! Perhaps they decided to include some kind of surprise for us. While it sounds nice, the realism is that Sierra but all the bonus stuff in the collections.  You have to realize back then video games rarely had any behind the scene videos or much marketing (commer...

Well I just started a fresh round of QfG1 (EGA, my nostalgia preference) and  you guys have convinced me to play the game without going hybrid.  IIRC the only time I played a pure character I played as a fighter the very first time.  After that I always played as a thief with magic & parry (hybr...

I also got a kick out of playing a mixed hero in QfG1, but future QfGs made that slightly harder.  When I originally played QfG1 I wasn't a huge fan of replaying a game.  Of course almost 15yrs later I replay QfG1 at least once every 1-2yrs.  But yes, all you had to do was choose a thief, add some m...

I admit I was implying I was buying a promise from ADGI, in hindsight it does sound worse than I intended.  But for the integrity of this thread I won't edit out anything (that's just a dirty attempt to cover it up). Keep in mind I love adventure games and even though I'm not a western fan (I did pl...

QfG2VGA Music Remakes... anybody have them?

UPDATE: Nevermind, I was able to locate this track on a backup I had.

In the past the developers journal linked to 1 or 2 songs from QfG2VGA but I see the link(s) are broken.

Can anybody post the QfG2VGA songs that have been publically release as a teaser?

1. Inject yourself with a comma inducing serum and have doctors wake you up when QfG2VGA is released.

Well in proper software development you would NEVER bug test after you've made the game.  It's been tried & proven that the best & fastest way to squash bugs is to fix bugs as they are created and NOT move onto something new. I've heard MS learned this lesson well when the very first version...

Even if you already own the previous King's Quest/Space Quest collections you should still buy these collections and here's why. It's the ONLY way to prove to these companies that adventure games still hold a place in our heart.  If these sales exceed expectations then VU will have to take notice o...

Buying Al Emmo and AGDI's promise

Update: This post was done in a haste of poor judgement, go here to read more. I haven't been to this site in about a year so it wasn't until just now that I knew what commercial project the former AGDI member were up to, and from the screenshots on the official Al Emmo site, I can say I'm very imp...

90% done hmm?  If you do the math that means it will take 4-5 months before the game is actually done.

I explained in a previous forum post in great detail why I believe QfG2VGA won't be finished until early or mid 2006, and I'm being optimistic.  There's no way QfG2VGA can be ready by the end of the year untill AGDI is willing to release a game that might have bugs and they'll just patch those after...

I can't imagine Christmas in summer, but I'm biased because a snowy Christmas is what I've always known. So the question is, if you could change the weather or the date of Christmas, would you so that Christmas is in a snowy season? That's the friendly curiosity of me speaking, the evil side of me w...

Yep, a lot of us Southern Hemisphere people tend to be forgotten about when it comes to seasonal release dates I'll keep this in mind from now on, it's the curse of being American, you assume everybody speaks American, all money is in US denominations and when it snows in America in snows everywher...

Oh, and welcome (officially) to the forums, Travis.  You said you've been here for a long time; were you a lurker or did you create a new account? Thanks, yes I was a lurker and this post made me want to sign up so I could comment on the subject.  I think in the past I might have posted anonymously...

Kurdt wrote:Yeah but you said they were gonna go into beta late winter 2006. Was that a typo on your part?
Early winter is Nov/Dec, late winter is Jan/Feb.  So when I said late winter 2006 I meant Jan or Feb.  Sorry about that confusion.

As for the "hobby project" part, you are actually wrong about it this time. These guys don't do it in their spare time. These guys do it every waking hour they're not working. Ahh, well that's awesome, now I know why they're able to finish their games unlike other groups. I doubt they'll ...

Progress is still being made on the game. I guess you could say it is a "pre-alpha" stage, where it is being tested by programmers to iron out any major bugs before the rest of the team gets it. As far as I know, I don't think there is any "major" scripting left to be done. Righ...
