Re: ** Quest for Glory II HAS BEEN RELEASED **

The day has finally come. I can't wait to complete the finished copy, and that's saying something, considering how many times you have to replay each screen when beta-testing.

Looking forward to seeing what else you snuck in there, everybody. Great work!

For all of the patient gamers and fans

This is a very difficult topic to post. I want to say so many things here, but, then, I really don't. All I can say is this; basing my opinion on working with the beta build of this game so far (23 realtime hours in); every single second that you've all spent waiting for updates, news, information, ...

Exactly. Actually, when I get to that level in a game, it's pretty ironic; I lose most interest in even finishing it. For example; I usually spend over 99 hours on a typical RPG, building a party of Gods, just to beat a single, tough, end-game, optional boss. By the time I've spent 2 1/2 full work w...

I thought of that, actually, but then I considered the fact that not everyone who imports a character is going to use a hex editor on their save files. Since that demographic is as low as it is, it wouldn't make much sense to prepare characters in that method. I want to have all of my character buil...

I don't look at it so much as constant, nit-picky kind of work. It's an extension of what I normally do in most games; play the living hell out of every area, and try my best to reach 100% completion in as short a time as possible. Anyone remember the -1 Level hidden on World 1-2 of the original Sup...

Speaking directly to the "lucky bastards" appellation; I can't speak for the other beta testers that were selected, but I can say that I didn't apply to be a tester so that I could be one of the first people to play the game, nor to have my name in the credits (though the latter IS pretty ...

I guess I could have been more clear. I meant that the old, EGA version didn't have the dialogue tree that was found from QFG3 and on.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how many lines of dialogue that I've never found in the original, based on that fact.

I just posted a topic on the QFG2 Message Boards, directing interested fans to check out this site and see the work that ADGI has done so far. Feel free to join me there, as well, and bring more traffic here.

Do you think for a second that I'd be posting on here if I already had a beta copy of the game to test? For shame, sir, for shame. This is going to be like when I got to beta test Al Emmo, but far more labor-intensive; at least two weeks' worth of red-eyed, up until 2am or later nights, acute carpal...

The secret to being selected as a beta tester (for me, anyway) was large, generous bribes, alternating with thinly veiled, malevolent threats and intermittent stalking episodes. I found where AGD1's, AGD2's, navynuke04's and Erpy's houses were, went there in the middle of the night with an acoustic ...

Congratulations to all those selected! The long wait is almost over. It astonishes me to think; when I first discovered this website, it was 5 months before 9/11. I was still playing PSOne games with no dual analog controller, DVD players were still $200 and Windows XP hadn't even been released yet....

I almost feel like I'm waiting to find out if I won the apple pie at the church bake sale raffle. Well... More like playing the lottery every few days for 6 years straight, never winning but coming close every now and then, and the big Powerball drawing is less than 7 days away. That's a bit more ac...

Wow, 300 applicants? How does that stack up compared to the volunteers for Al Emmo? I know there was a bunch of people that applied then, too.

Al Emmo, KQ Remakes, QFG2VGA on GameFaqs?

I, like a lot of cheap gamers, use GameFaqs a lot for Walkthroughs and FAQs on a lot of games. While I was browsing the other day, I found a message board for Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine, as well as the VGA remakes for KQ1 and 2. There are no reviews there yet, no FAQs (for Al Emmo, at leas...

Same here, Michelle. I was part of the first wave of testers of Al Emmo, and got to see what it meant to REALLY try to break a game. I've had benders on certain games; I stayed up until 8am one Friday night/Saturday morning when I was 10 years old, trying to beat The Legend of Zelda in a single sitt...

Brainiac, I was one of the beta testers for Al Emmo. Not knowing anything about the game when I started playing it definitely made me try things in the game that a normal player wouldn't. There were beta testers from all over the world working on that game, from all different backgrounds, with compl...

When will the beta tester selection start?

I'm not asking when beta testing will start. I just wanted to see when you think you'll start recruiting beta testers. It'd be nice to have some foreknowledge so I can start working on my plea letter/application. :lol

Elitists

I, too, started off with an IBM 8086. I remember all the upgrades, past 486DX2. At 11, our very first PC games were LSL3, KQ5 and QFG2. Not to mention, the laughable Electric Crayon, with both At The Zoo and When I Grow Up, featuring the Mario cast. This coincided precisely with the American release...

I just completed QFG2 again as a Fighter, handed Khaveen his ass on a paper plate before he could even lose his sword, and was still made Paladin. I just figured it was set up the other way for people with less fighting skill to have another option. Same thing with returning the reward to Rakeesh fo...

Any idea of when Beta testing will start?

Just wondering how far along in alpha you guys are so far. Will you be looking to the members of this forum for beta testing?
