Re: Becoming paladin

Actually, the comment you get when putting on the X-ray glasses does hint at their purpose: "You put on the glasses. Suddenly, everything appears as though you were looking through a veil." This is the exact opposite of what I would expect a working pair of X-Ray glasses to do. It makes e...

Re: Becoming paladin

Sorry to come back to an old issue, but I also have a problem with the X-Ray glasses. While I do agree that deliberately watching a woman getting changed like that should disqualify you, I didn't see any hint anywhere in the game that the glasses would actually do anything. Look at the comment you g...

Re: suck blue frog protection :D

Sure it's possible to max the stats after doing this. I am currently playing through with a pure thief, and I dropped all my stats right at the start of the game using this method. At the moment (Sunset approaches - day 6), I have: Luck = 136 Weapon Use = 197 Dodge = 199 Stealth = 161 Throwing = 142...

Re: EOF

I think that the answer to this problem is an import bug with the original QFG2. I remember playing the original and wondering why every character imported had a fighter's picture on the status screen, but when you started a new thief or magic user, they got their own picture. The game was treating ...

Re: I just want a little earth

I had this problem. The Air Elemental was attacking the city, I had spoken to Aziza about it, and had spoken to Keapon as well. The game didn't seem to want to let me tell the merchant why I needed the dirt. The problem was solved simply by taking a quick visit to the Palace plaza to see the thing f...

30 from Adelaide, Australia. My first game was far too long ago to remember properly. I have vague memories of Dad bringing home a TI-99/4a home computer. I also remember spending lots of time typing in games from a book that Dad had bought. While I don't know what my first adventure game was, some ...

However, I agree that parsers only "seem" infinite. I mean, you can say that only having 4 icons to interact with your world limits you all you want, but in the end you're doing all the things the parser would've let you done. I mean, sure, if you type in "f*** tree" or "ki...

I've been lurking here for a while, and I thought I would put in my two cents worth. ve been thinking about this some more. Whenever I've discussed adventure games with people I've noticed that they refer to the plot, characters they liked and situations that they enjoyed but they almost never refer...
