Re: The problem with indie adventures

Thanks for the insight on how you guys handled that AGC2. It's really cool to hear how other groups operate. I had considered doing something along these lines for a project at one point, but I had been experimenting with Dropbox instead. I might have to give this method a shot.

Re: The problem with indie adventures

Unfortunately, Klytos is right that it's often not practical for two programmers to work in AGS on the same project. The source files in AGS are plain text so you could allow one programmer to make changes to a specific file's text, but you wouldn't have control over the sprites, music, hotspots etc...

I am really glad to hear you enjoyed the game KQartist. We had a blast making it and it's really awesome we were finally able to get it out there to the fans.

Re: Space Quest II is available to download!

haha. Wish I had you as a bug tester DrJones! As you say you seem to be a magnet for em. Unfortunately, the announcement system is kinda screwed up. I made the poor decision during the finalizing process to move its code from the repeatedly_execute block to the repeatedly_execute_always block in res...

Thanks again for finding all that. I believe I have resolved everything you pointed out in my version. They should all be fixed in the next update!

Re: Space Quest II is available to download!

Hi DrJones.

Great catches! Anyone ever tell you that you would make a good beta tester?

Just so I know, what operating system are you using?

Thanks,

Re: Colonel's Bequest update

Aw, but at least throw in a couple of changes, maybe? Maybe add a new item here or there. Uncensor a previously censored scene. Put in some new gags. At least give SOMETHING new or different, even if it's just a few things here and there [New Items] - The problem with this is that I would have to r...

lol. I am not surprised you thought I was gone. It has been quite a while since I last posted. Even checking the forums has slowed down quite a bit. It was complete coincidence I happened to check the forums the day someone asked this question. Adamantyx, I should probably clarify something as well....

Re: Colonel's Bequest update

It was never entirely clear who dkornblet32 was talking about when he mentioned the Colonel's Bequest "remake". It's possible he may have been referring to the side project I was and to some extent still am working on to learn AGS. If it is the one I am working on it will likely be a long ...

Best wishes to AGD2 and anyone else effected by the fires. Really, I can't begin to imagine how terrible it would be to have something like that happen.

I will definately keep my fingers crossed.

Re: What Operating System Do You Use?

Currently I dual boot Windows Vista and the newest version of Ubuntu linux. Vista runs pretty well on my laptop and so far I have been pretty happy with it. Mostly I keep my Ubuntu install around for the fun of it and to learn linux better. The biggest problem that I have with switching to straight ...

Re: What does one do with a nonFF compatible wordpress theme?

I don't really have a ton of time to look over the code right now but since firefox is adding a → before the unordered lists I would assume your problem is with this block of code below. #pages ul li a:before{ content:" → "; color:#000000; } If this is the case you could probably just remo...

Re: QFG Art Competition Original

Good Job Dave! I have to agree with Lady Pyro, I feel the original picture is not only more recognizable but the colors seem to work better. When looking at the photoshop edit I feel like the colors are rather harsh in certain places. Personally I feel this detracts from the picture but it's a great...

Re: What does one do with a nonFF compatible wordpress theme?

As far as the links at the top go I see one problem with the Firefox display that would cause it to break sooner. The first is that in Firefox the bullets for the Unordered List are showing which takes up more space. Another thing that jumps out at me is either the font is different or one is bolded...

Could you be more descriptive about your problem? What shifts, the navigation links? It is the nature of a CMS to shift around to fit your data so I am a bit unclear as to what is happening here.

Re: So tell me why FF7 gets so many spin-off's...

QFG Fan mentioned something I had meant to but forgot. While FF7 wasn't the first FF game it was the first one that went 3D and took the game and RPG genre to a whole new level. Since then they have all been very movie oriented. Part of why FF7 was so successful was because it was the first of a new...

Re: So tell me why FF7 gets so many spin-off's...

What makes Final Fantasy 7 so great? Well, all the Final Fantasy games have been pretty great in their own way. Personally I don't feel that Final Fantasy 7 was much different than the others but I feel it had some major qualities that really immersed players. The story was intriguing, it made you w...

Re: King's Quest for Glory???

I dunno, personally I have always found crossovers to be a strange idea. Also, while it conceivably works for a show like CSI Miami and CSI New York it gets weird when you mix two items that have fantasy elements, and even weirder if you take two games that have totally different play styles and com...

hehe, I remember back when I was young and naive I spent an hour trying to find a way in to that damn workshop. Really I don't know why but I always felt there had to be something important in there. Re: Anyone played the new Metal Gear Solid or Fallout 3?

Yeah, sounds like we do have similar tastes! As for Silent Hill, I have always been interested in the story for the games and somewhat hated the game play. Part of the reason I bought this one was because I believed it would have really good graphics and a good story. So far those two things are tru...

I actually ended up picking up both of them just like you said! Also it turns out the new Silent Hill was released so I got that too. Anyone played the new Metal Gear Solid or Fallout 3?

Ever since I have bought my PS3 I have been waiting for a decent game to come out on it! Recently they released a new Metal Gear solid game and also Fallout 3 a couple days ago. I am really considering purchasing these, has anyone had a chance to play them? If so, are they worth buying? Hope to hear...

Wow, great to see someone is working on such a cool project. I can't wait to see how this develops! I think what Arcane is trying to say is that you have these incredibly detailed backgrounds (they look great by the way) and then you have the hero who looks very bland and undetailed. Now I am not an...
