Re: Coming of Age Depression

Holy Moses! We "old" folks have all been there. Trust me on this one: there will be a day when you wish you were 25 again (and I'm only almost 30 ;)). Your best years are right now man. In your 20s, you make the biggest decisions of your life: who you'll marry, what you'll do in a career.....

Re: qfg2 new adventure

It'd be fun to see the story behind Rasier. I don't think you really need a lot of money to get something like this started, if you were really serious about it anyway. Heroes Quest was a great game, and its technical showcase is nothing compared to today's standards. Yet if you could pull off a Her...

While I will acknowledge the fact that a new engine may have played a role, I don't believe it was the primary factor for QFG4's bugginess. (its most infamous errors were still scripting errors, rather than engine errors) Not to be argumentative (I obviously was not involved in the development), bu...

I agree completely with jayjech.  I find that non fanatics of the series generally have the same opinion as well.  I grew up in the adventure gaming era, so my friends and family are familiar with the series.  None of them had any interest in Qfg5 when it came out (at all), and were pretty critical ...

I'm surprised nobody has commented on this yet.  Your screenshots look pretty neat. I'd be intrested in playing when you're done. Funny Story:  When I was a kid, I was big into adventure games.  I went with my dad to get a game from "Armadillo Brothers" (since out of business), and we were...

Sorry for the confusion.  This is the same question people are asking at the AGS forum.   You need to submit an actual game. The rules are posted on youngwritersforum.net; but basically you need to materialize your idea in the form of a game people can play and rank.   The graphics do not matter, no...

Thanks Jamie, I really appreciate the exposure!

I posted on the AGS forum, but boy are they giving me a hard time.  Anyway, I am really hoping at least 5 people will join the contest, or I'll be the only one making a game :(.  I'll wait another week and see who turns up

Adventure Game Design Contest

Greetings to all my fellow adventure game developer enthusiasts , I am starting a contest to see who can come up with the best adventure game design.  In this contest, contestants will be creating a short adventure game. The purpose of this contest is NOT who can make the coolest art or compose the...
