Re: Fighting Nigerian Email Scams (funny!)

Oh my God!

The Great Penis caper is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. I thought the Adventures of Blood Ninja were amusing.

Oh my.

The things we do with our spare time!

Re: New AGDI site goes live & King's Quest I Re-released!

It's hard to have millions of colors on a screen containing only 64,000 pixels True, but 32-bit/24-bit color(32-bit is commonly 24-bit, the extra 8-bits being available for transparency effects) is still an accurate description. 16-bit color would be incorrect, because 16-bit color works out to 6 b...

Re: David Letterman of the Tonight Show seriously ill

I wish him well, but I never found him to be that funny. His band leader is the most charming recurring personality on his show, and he only offers highly contemporary extemporaneous contributions to the show. Leno is talented. MAD TV after the 2nd season blew goat nuts. SNL just hasn't been the sam...

Searching for obscure SCI-FI title

I have looked for this title for years now, but have little information on it. I do not remember the novel's name or the name of the author, but I remember what the story was about vaguely: The setting: An engineer or technician of some kind is working in a city in the future, and he deals as is nec...

Re: New AGDI site goes live & King's Quest I Re-released!

Well I have to say, walking through this [KQ1 v4] game is like walking through a piece of art. Which it is! Also, what Gronagor said. CGA rocked. Had to be highly creative to make things look remotely reasonable with only 4 colors. I playt in CGA the first time with the parser. (Rock on!) [quote=Mus...

Re: New AGDI site goes live & King's Quest I Re-released!

New site is much better. The less flash, the better in general. Major improvement to html+PHP. This is how the web was meant to be viewed. That said, KQ1 v4 is sure to be most excellent and I will play it very soon. The previous versions were amazing as well, and given the limitations of the origina...

Just want to pop in to say, dropping out of HS was the best move I ever made. Plus college is for losers. Not to say folks here with degrees or credit hours are losers. You are the exception because you are reading this here, right now. But most are. And yes. the World has gotten universally worse s...

Easter Egg message in LAURA BOW: The Dagger of Amon Ra

Ok, this is a random post. I seem to remember as a kid playing the 3.5" Floppy Disk version of AMON RA, the second Laura Bow Mystery. It was VGA as best I remember and totally MIDI based. This early version was sold as a boxed individually packaged game with the bust of Ramses on the cover and ...

Re: Game too forgiving about basic needs?

Hunger, thirst and lack of sleep are like status conditions. They're not death timers...they cause you to lose stamina at a steadily increasing pace. That means that resting or taking vigor/healing pills can basically let you last almost indefinitely, as does resting an hour with hunger or lack of ...

Re: The "Thanks" thread!

I didn't get the maximum score, and have only just now upgraded to Version 1.1. I may wait to play it again until a Platinum or final revision is out, because I prefer to keep the characters I've made. You get to keep the characters you have made (in .sav format). You only lose the savegames and an...

Re: The "Thanks" thread!

I just wanted to say thanks one more time. I finished the game. I like to take it slow to soak it all in. So I actually just finished it after downloading it and playing it the night it came out. My character is a beefy thief turned mage. I didn't get the maximum score, and have only just now upgrad...

Greedy Thief; 3rd Mission

Right, so I want to try to take everything on the third mission. Is it possible? How? I can get out with 3 out of 4 items, but I want all 4. I still haven't figured out a way yet. I am a Mage with brawn and high thief skills, but I can't take on three guards or slip past them when they are at the do...

Re: WHAT AN AWESOME REMAKE

I want a forum-based emulation of the Fight engine from the game. Your forum stats should determine your beefiness etc. I love the idea of being to use the combat system against other live players too. Now the based on your forum stats bit... Well, they could do that. And then they could change the...

Re: WHAT AN AWESOME REMAKE

Effendi is no critic, he's a troll. C'mon ignore him. AGDI's did a great job, everyone knows that. The praise has been issued and was due in my opinion. This person is dissatisfied with his life, not the game. The game is wonderful. and so are the AGDI's and all others who aided in its development. ...

There are 16 meetings in total, but if you miss the 15th due to needing to be at EOF, the 15th and 16th will be fused together. That's the only exception. You know you'll have seen them all when Shameen speaks his "things have come full circle"-line and after you click "bottom's up&q...

Re: Concerning QfG1VGA imports

You are both right. In QFG1VGA, you have to throw as many daggers as you can, then use the hand icon on the ground, this retrieves your daggers before combat. If you engage in combat before, then you loose them. Because of this, I just carry rocks and hurrle them before combat. The same goes with d...

Two small bugs I have found the door on the West-South most alleyway facing East (located in the western wall) doesn't have the correct locators defined for it, ex, you 'knock' and hero goes to the door north-east of it on the north-east corner, as he doesn when instructed to knock on that door. Hi there, too bad about the lost character, you could try this: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Games/Gaming_Utilities/Quest_For_Glory_Importer__95.html Creates characters for import, but it's not that adjustable... I would go back to QFG1 and Razzle Dazzle Root Beer everything you wanted. I app...
