Art

Hey, who did the art for the pile of brigands (after the intermission)? Just curious, as it seems to be in a different style from the rest.

Thanks.

Re: The "Thanks" thread!

The fond memories being stirred as well as new ones being introduced has proven to be an especially pleasant combination. While most who are honest can find things to nitpick, I'm impressed with how many elements, new and old, were so skillfully implemented. Thank you for your hard work, your devoti...

Yes, use default Photoshop filters very sparingly as overusing them screams "amateur" to anyone who knows the program. If you must use them, use them as steps, not as final solutions. Custom/downloaded/purchased filters are a little different as most people wouldn't know/recognize them so ...

I'm certainly not gonna claim to be an expert but you may want to check out Sam & Max. It's 3D but it's definitely a fun adventure game (series).

There was also a mention of an installer needing to be created, tested on multiple computers and approved, I believe, which also takes time.

Hmm. I thought he asked to be saved when he was falling (could be wrong on this). If he knew he'd become a vampire, does that mean he asked to be saved from becoming a vampire?

But if you'd still like to upgrade your browser:
In Firefox, click on Help at the top and then Check for Updates.
I don't know about Internet Explorer but I suspect similar would work.

Surprise (two of them, actually)

From the designer journal dated January 23, 2006 We're also in the process of preparing somewhat of a surprise for the future (two of them, actually) which fans of the first two King's Quest remakes should enjoy, but to say any more at this point would be telling. That was two and a half years ago. ...

Re: DOS?

out of curiosity, how long would it have taken to program such a game as QGII strictly in a language such as C or C+ as opposed to using AGS? Depends on how much you already start with. If you start absolutely from scratch, it would mean you would need to code the support Adventure Game Studio alre...

Re: Progress Update Thread (formerly known as quest for glory 2)

Let's say you get to 0 bugs remaining. What happens then? Does everyone replay the game from start to finish? Do you have a list of unusual things to test (like the rope example) that could potentially introduce more bugs, etc.?

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?

I'm running AdBlock right now, with default settings. It's great for eliminating pop-ups and the spammier ads--but unobtrusive in-site ads still make it through. And that's the extent of how far the average person goes to counteract internet ads. Hell, MOST people don't even go that far. Just so yo...

Now here's the fun part: once ads in games become popular enough, the crackers will step up to patch them out of games. Ever hear of Adblock for Firefox? There's a reason it's around most people use adblock just to disable spam and popups.. legit ads still make it through Nope. Adblock blocks whate...

I've heard gamma testing tends to be fairly brief but delta testing is quite time consuming.  I'm forecasting a release of 2013.
