Re: Quest for Glory

I believe I voted for KQ3VGA too. Everyone's got their own reason, I guess. However the main reasons are probably: - Besides Goldrush, KQ3 is one of the only AGI-games that didn't get a VGA-treatment by Sierra, Kippesoep or us. (let's leave Black Cauldron outta this, OK?) - The way of story-telling ...

Re: Quest for Glory

QFG1VGA was remade because all first chapters of the various series were remade. After that, they realized that it just wasn't viable and the negative comments of many fans also kinda ruined it.

Re: KQ1VGA PROBLEMS PLEASE HELP:(

Ouch!!! It seems your video card doesn't support that resolution. You can try to run the game by selecting 640x400 resolution, but expect to have some slowdowns in certain areas and music running out of sync.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashunea.j...

Re: GAME RESETS WHEN I LEAVE THE CASTLE

That's how it was in Sierra's KQ1-remake and that's how it is here. At the title screen, you can either view the intro or start a new game. If you view the intro, the game will return to the title screen after Graham has received his mission. If you start a new game, you'll start at the exact spot w...

Our games SHOULD work well on XP. KQ1VGA was runnable on XP, seeing that AGS can compile a project into a Windows-version.

KQ1VGA 3.0 will support Truetype fonts. That means we should be able to import such a font into the game and Presto!

Re: how long?

It's up to the AGD's to decide when to announce the title of the next project. I suggest not worrying about it for now. First there's KQ2+ and QFG2VGA is next in line. The next project won't be finished for quite some time.

Re: Future remake?

I'm not sure about Lucasarts. Not only are they still selling their old titles from their site, (unfortunately, you have to be American in order to buy them since they no longer do foreign orders) but they're also snappy about copyright issues. We can pretty much be sure that Sierra's not gonna both...

Re: Black Cauldron... etc

Fender, age is irrelevant with movies. Unlike video games, movies never become outdated. Look at Snowwhite. It was Disney's first big animated movie, but it has been re-released a large amount of times and people still buy it. The Black Cauldron is not available right now, but Disney will likely re-...

Re: Black Cauldron... etc

I know that very well. The issue is not the fact that the original Black Cauldron is no longer of interest to Disney. If someone made a game from a Disney movie with blocky graphics like that, Disney might hardly notice. A Black Cauldron remake in VGA however, being a remake of a Disney game, would ...

Re: Future remake?

We already have plans for another project, but I'm not so sure whether it would be wise to turn it into a secret project. As long as it remains secret, it also means that someone else could start a similar project without knowing about ours. Let's just say it remains secret until we decide to announ...

Re: Future remake?

That's the interview that played a part in our choice to cancel our project in favor of Kippesoep. He already knew how to program 14 years ago and he's the lead programmer of a development team in real life.

Re: Future remake?

To clarify; neither Disney nor Sierra owns the actual rights to "The black cauldron". The real rights belong to Lloyd Alexander, the writer of The Prydain Chronicles. (The Black Cauldron was the first book of the series, I believe) Disney likely got a license from Alexander's publisher in ...

Re: years

I'd say, keep the copyright line as it is. I didn't know the official translation for that line either. Still, it's something that certainly SHOULD be included. Most people will know what it means and it's better to leave it as a whole untranslated, rather than creating a translation that might not ...

Kippesoep mentioned that the music is the only thing he'll need help with. I don't have his e-mail adress, but I believe he checks the subspace channel every once in a while, so maybe you could post your offer there.
