Re: Sierra or Lucasarts

like, young kids now are going to look back fondly on their Bioshocks and Mass Effects as the "golden era" of video gaming, because those are the games they played during their formative years. That statement is so true! Kids these days, (between 10 - 28 years old,) see the classics in a ...

Re: I'm on You Tube

If you want to be famous on Youtube you need to have a song and dance routine. (Chugging bottled water, scaring your cat, and viewing UFOs just won't cut it.) Add a little more creativity to your videos and possibly better quality too, (they are highly compressed which make them painful to watch.) S...

Re: Captain N the Game Master

I just watched Captain N a few nights ago on Netflix... They even have Zelda which was your classic early 90's cheese. Cartoons have come a long way.

One of my all-time-favorites was The Real Ghostbusters.

Re: Making a game in AGS: How do I start?

Thanks BT, that is really helpful too. I hope to see more input from others out there that love to design games in AGS. (Every little bit helps.)

Looking forward to more helpful hints, advice, or just general game design talk. :smokin

Re: Making a game in AGS: How do I start?

Thanks Erpy! What about graphics programs, sound editors, and such? Which ones have less learning curves and those with steep ones?

And how about the actual thought process from start to finish -- before you even touch the computer??

Making a game in AGS: How do I start?

I was wondering how everyone here makes games in AGS... please place any of your practices or thoughts on your process from start to finish. Include tools you use and resources to those tools, (if you have them.) It can be a fan game or an original game. This can be somewhat of a resource thread for...

Re: Sierra or Lucasarts

This is a hard question to answer. It's like comparing apples to apples. Sierra On-line created so many more games than LucasArts... but the ratio of good games seems to be pretty even-steven. I'd say it was a tie. I can't, truthfully in good conscience, decide which is the better adventure game des...

Re: Adventure-Game Studio...Best choice?

I have a bias towards 3D. Why? Because I watched cartoons in the 80's and 90's. Even the games Sierra On-line and LucasArts created had a lot of 'cartoon' element to them. I'm all about cartoons. 3D can be cool, but not when you are trying to be consistent with a series that is mainly cartoon/2D-dri...

I finally decided to start a blog

Blogs have been around for quite a few years now, and I figured it was about time I jumped on the bandwagon. I probably have nothing more to say than the average Joe, concerning adventure games, but it keeps me out of trouble, gives me something to do, and it's something I enjoy talking about. If an...

I agree!

And thank you so much for putting in the "classic" string parser! (Some of us old guys require more to get excited.)
I played it with my 4 year old daughter last night... awesome!
