old computer question
I just purchased a 486 laptop as a gaming computer, but have run in to a couple of issues that I would appreciate some help with. First off, there is no sound card, I had not even considered that as a drawback to getting a laptop from this era. Would there be such a thing as an external sound card t...

quest for glory 4 on 486
I have a chance to buy a 486 w/100 mhz, and all the games that I want to play should run on this machine except possibly for quest for glory 4. Is this computer too fast to run the program? Anybody know?

Re: Needs to be made: QfG-style game with an East Asian setting
How about setting it in the Himalayas? Seems only fitting. I too have always wanted to see a QFG game in this sort of setting. Of course, as the seasons have changed through the series, the only one left to use is winter (then again this wouldn't be a sequel...)

Re: DOS?
out of curiosity, how long would it have taken to program such a game as QGII strictly in a language such as C or C+ as opposed to using AGS?

Age of Empires RPGs
Some time ago I came cross a website for fans of the Age of Empires series ( http://aok.heavengames.com/ ). It has links to many fan made scenarios, and mod packs for AoEII to alter the appearance of the game. Most remarkable though is the ingenuity that fans have shown in programming their own sc...

Thanks for the good feedback, I'm still going through some of my old folders and finding more of these paintings, although these are most of the finished ones. I compiled a small website here: http://traveler.in.time.googlepages.com/home if anyone would like to check it out. Any more work that I f...

I voted for Ad Avis, but I would say that the Demon Lord would be close behind. Both of them are pretty close to pure evil. Agreed, that brings up an interesting thought, a demon who is evil (with no potential for being good) is considered less evil than an evil man (who would have the potential t...

The Viking Sagas
has anyone ever seen the film The Viking Sagas? I just watched it, the plot is pretty straight forward, not a lot of depth; but very much how I would envision a quest for glory film.

QG2 Hero Outfit
As you decided to use the original QG2 style hero garb for the majority of the game, will our favorite hero change into the QG3 clothes we see in the intro to Wages of War? Or will this be a similar change to the presence of a cape, or different colored pants; just adjusting to the atmosphere of th...

Thanks, the very original images were done by memory, sitting in my dorm room without a computer all those years ago. The newer and better quality images were done off of a brief sketch of the scene, which was left intentionally vague to allow for artistic style. When I compare them next to the Q...

Yes, they indeed look better. There are still some perspective issues, but i really like the overall scenes. Are you interested in using your skills to actually develop qfgtype games? If so, I think there might be a perfect opportunity. Do you have icq/msn so we could further discuss the options? T...

Windows Vista
Does anybody have any thoughts on the Vista operating system?
overrated?
underrated?
not Linux?
I just hooked up a new system with it installed. so far its been fun to explore, with only slight changes, but I haven't had a chance to push it much yet.

These later images were fully watercolor, on appropriate paper (you can actually see the buckling that occurred on the non-watercolor paper of the originals). Many of the perspective issues were due to the fast rate of production, I didn't give these the time they deserved while I was painting them...

Introduction
Hi everyone, I believe it is high time I introduce myself. I've been a fan of the AGDs for a long time, I followed KQ1 VGA and Royal Quest while they were still in production, but very infrequently did I ever visit the forums (and when I did it was under some long lost username). Anyway here's to t...

These were watercolor and charcoal images, back when I painted these I did not realise the importance of keeping the image to a scanable size, with the consequence of having to scan each image in three or four parts, and compiling them together in my cheap knock-off version of photo shop. http://img...

Mordavia
Hi everyone, I'm not a usual poster on these forums, although I do visit them occassionally. Back in 2001, during my first year of college, I started painting some images of Mordavia. I had just heard about AGS, and had big ideas of creating something of a sequel to QG4. I soon found out that the...

uploading pictures
Hi everyone, I have a question.
how does a person go about uploading pictures onto the forums? I believe you have to place them online first correct?
I don't come here often, but I had some images I'd like to show in the game making forum. That is all,
thanks

LOOM II
has anyone heard about this project? I don't know when it will get finished, but it sounds like an interesting take for a sequel.
