Re: Silver Dagger and combat
Well you don't start with the 1000 dinar reward either, so one assumes alot happens in between the end of 2 and the start of 3. A good explanation may be that since the only way to get it is to steal, and the dagger is pulled from a hidden location, it would basically be a very... notable item. Some...

Re: Way too hard playing QFG 3 now!
QFG3 is still a good game, the problem is that it has the definite feeling of being "rushed" - its like they expected the new graphics to wow people, but shorttchanged alot on other aspects (like making combat interesting) or on the puzzles and such. There was a ton of potential there thou...

Re: Good places to practice various skills...
I never bothered with frequent sleeping till dawn as a fighter until day 16. I fought the entire night out in the desert (Best time to do so) and did most of what I needed to at night as well. Daytime was always spent in the town (mainly training at the guild hall, but elsewhere too.) As a rule I wa...

Re: Which sites have you seen this game release announced?
Still, for a game that hasn't even been out a week thats impressive time. I know it probably won't keep up at that rate forever, but its still an auspicious start, methinks.

Re: undead unguent in QFG2
Mind you, its still a bit crazy to do, but it could very well be a blessing for Thieves and Magic Users (esp thieves) since it gives them a good source for extra cash (easier than Scorpions at least.) The stamina loss isn't likely to harm a fighter as much, but it might do more for a thief or mage, ...

Re: Silver Dagger and combat
Well he does throw with the other hand, maybe that's the point. He blocks (I think) with the same hand he attacks with.
Mind you I'm not complaining they should - for all I know that would have been a bigger programming nightmare, and the combat system as is is crazy enough.

Silver Dagger and combat
As I recall, its been mentioned that you can "use" the silver dagger in battle. Does the game automatically use that instead of your regular daggers if its in your inventory, or do you have to take the other daggers out first? Also, I was fiddling aroudn with a thief and fighting Uhura.. t...

Re: undead unguent in QFG2
actually its 100 silver, so only 10 gold per unguent.
Harik gets you 30 gold for 2 claws (2 per Ghoul IIRC) so that's 5 ghousl you have to fight. 10 claws = 150 gold. Minus 5 ghouls (5 unguents) thats 100 gold :P

Heck, I'm still in the "diddling around with the game without a straight playthrough" stage and I'm having loads of fun./ mind you, I havent had time to play straight through yet, but I'm still enjoying it immensely. I really really like the street layout.. its so much more "alive&quo...

Re: Good places to practice various skills...
There is a normal way for Communication, but it takes a long time. Remember, always be on your best manners when talking to Aziza. One thing I've done in the old agme (and I tested in the new game, so it works there) is bargain to buy flowers from the flower merchant, ,and then give those to Shema ...

Re: Theif Combat
Also, long ago I vaguely recall someone (Erpy I think) commenting on the Silver Dagger you get from the metalworker's house as being a much better weapon than a regular dagger (broadsword level damage, I think?), so that could be an inadvertant way for a thief (or a magic user with the appropriate t...

Re: undead unguent in QFG2
I rustled up a Ghoul on my first day and tested it out in combat using that single Unguent I have. Yes, it does have an effect against Ghouls - specifically I noticd it wasn't draining my stamina as rapidly as without. Not sure if it affected physical damage, since the bloody thing surprised me with...

If you look on google you can also find lots of maps. Some are from the "in game" EGA map itself. I actually had to use that to refresh my memory as to where the moneychanger is.

Re: A few combat related questions
Oooh. I like that idea. It adds an added dimension of variety to tactics even outside combat. Second question just occured to me now. I did train with Uhura in the Guild fighting hall (nice how you guys handled that as a Separate room, I like it) and managed to beat her the first time we fought a du...

Oh wait I'm sorry.

And got any little plans for celebration (or have you celebrated?) considering the fact you finally got it done?

My mad powergamed ubercharacter had his lockpick AND his thieve's toolkit.
Later on when I get time, I'll play around with the game at the end and see what may or may not transfer over.

A few combat related questions
I've been fiddling around with th ecombat, and part of this involved me doign what I've always enjoyed doing, doing a magic using fighter without a shield. (I keep the shield around, ,but I avoid using it if I can) I've been wondering a few things about that: 1.) Does the shield confer a tangible be...

undead unguent in QFG2
I noticed that for some reason I transitioned to QFG2 with undead unguent in my inventory. I've never noticed that before (at least not in my copy of th eEGA version, but I havent played in awhle.)

Got it , love it, havent played it much
I'm (As I've said) savoring it. Its the only QFG game we'll get in awhile, and its been years in coming. I dont want the magic to die off too quickly now.
More to the point, they put so much effort itno it. You can tell in all the little details.
