A: Not to be rude, but in the off topic forum (where this is sure to be moved shortly) we went over this just recently, I mean like literally a couple of days ago. Again not be rude, personally I hate when people jump up new posters asses because they haven't figured out their way around, just letti...

Re: My Adventures in Retro Adventure Gaming in Vista 64

I was 17 when Puzzle of Flesh dropped, and I really liked it then mainly because I hadn't really been exposed to as much of that sort of psycological horror, but I don't it's held up very well at least for me. Now days I find having to role play finding my damned wallet so I can get to work on time ...

I just suck at ScummVM because I haven't used it as much... I'm learning.

edit: Actually, I get it now! Thanks Music! You have helped me become less stupid.

Re: My Adventures in Retro Adventure Gaming in Vista 64

I can't get ScummVM to work right, mainly because I currently have no way of even installing most of the era of LucasArts in a from that ScummVM can work with outside of virtualized Windows 98, but running in virtualized Windows 98 has created it's own crop of problems. I've got a few ideas yet to t...

Re: Comparing Apples and Oranges

Somebody really ought to point out that the whole point of the cliché is that apples and oranges are too dissimiler to make a meaningful comparison thus, objectively speaking, the poll is unanswerable. Non-objectively speaking, I'm not even sure it's possible to have a strong opinion one way or the...

One final note: Just about everything here is available elseware on the internet, and nearly all of it is my re-hashing and/or building upon someone else's work. The reason I thought it should go here, is because with the excellent work AGD has done this has become one of the most active communities...

Running a real OS on top of an emulated one running in another real one? Who would have ever thought of that? Well apparently someone did :D Well it actually works because Windows 3.1 is NOT a real OS, it's DOS application that functions like an OS. So it makes sense if you think about it. Yeah, so...

Re: 64-bit Windows

There are reasons to have a 64bit system, but most of them are very technical and don't apply to the average user. That said, from what I've seen I don't have any of the problems on my 64bit system that everyone I know running 32bit Vista is always complaining about, but that's as likely do to me be...

Re: What was the most difficult Sierra game ever?

Frankly though, as far as absolutely stupid puzzle solutions goes... nothing beats shoving one alien up another alien's butt to make a a key in Phantasmagoria II... that game really shouldn't have blown it's nudity wad in the first chapter, because it sure as hell didn't have much else going for it...

Re: QFG 5 save games

Ok... I got a fix for you... ...and it's a doozy. Ok, bottum line is to fix this problem you need to run the the Win2K patch, and to do that you need to upgrade to version 1.2 This is tricky because the 1.2 patch .exe won't run in Vista. Here's how I got around it: I installed Windows 3.1 in Dosbox ...

Re: What was the most difficult Sierra game ever?

I found police quest 2 to be quite hard. And Gabriel Knight 3 was damn near impossible for me and stupid to boot. GK3 just had some stupid puzzle solutions... I.E. cover the hole in the garage with tape, then chase a cat through it to make a fake moustache in order to disguise yourself as someone w...

Re: My one real problem with Dragon Fire... The Ending.

Really? I assume you mean the climax as opposed to the ending... I.E. the fight with the Dragon, which is assuredly bad ass. I'm talking about the ceramony at the VERY end... which should be this huge awesome, awards ceramony at the end of Star Wars moment... but instead is basically a throw-away.

Re: What QFG class do you use?

I'm going to have to go with Paladin for one reason: QFGIV is not only my favorite of the series, but my favorite video game of all time (as I've explained in another thread). As far as I'm concerned because only the paladin can delve into resolve Piotyr's back story, any other class ends up missing...

Re: Who was the most evil of all?

Now... when you say Demonlord... do you mean the Demon Wizard, or Avoozl? At any rate Avoozl is clearly the most evil being in the series, as far as villans you actually face directly... I'm gonna have to go with The Dragon of Doom, followed by Ad Avis, followed by The Demon Wizard, followed by Brun...
