AGD Quest for Glory 2 remake selling on ebay?

Someone might be interested to check this out. It doesn't look right. Doesn't specify whether its the original game or the remake, but the cover art is definately Eriq's QFG2 remake poster. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quest-Glory-II-Trial-Fire-/320725981948?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=i...

Re: Combat is *way* too hard

I really don't understand why everyone seems to find it so difficult. :\ Because it leaves really little room for reactions. When fighting, say, a Terrorsaurus, that thing has multiple different attacks and it's hard to win unless you can recognize in time what it's going to do. At maximum combat s...

Re: Why is writing so bad these days?

I agree -- I think part of the problem is that as games have grown more violent, the plot of games has taken the back seat. But some of us are plot-lovers and that makes these games unbearable. I don't think violence has anything to do with it. Gabriel Knight series, 5 days a stranger (which is a f...

Re: QFGII poster - and one up for sale on eBay!

Being on the other side of the globe (8 hours difference) didn't help much. I was planning to watch this item closely at the end, but alas i didn't manage to. I hope it went to a fan at least and not a profit seeker

Re: Why do we still prefer 320x200?

I'm glad to see that i'm not the only "freak" in the universe that still enjoys playing adventure games at 320x200 resolution. I don't know if its the nostalgia or not, but i really have a thing with the pixelated 320x200 graphics. They have a special appeal to me. It's like making a new v...

Re: Monkey Island: Special Edition

Downloaded it through Steam for less than $10 and im already 70% into it. Gotta admit that I'm loving it so far, but the animations could have been better in some areas. Also being an old-school adventure gamer (I got a thing about pixels), I love the fact that you can switch to the old version with...

Bummer! Since they managed to integrate the old and new graphics so well i don't see what's the problem with including the speech into the old version as well.

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!

I'd give it a 6/10 for the eye candy and all the cinematic stuff but generally i agree with the people that didn't like the interface much. I posted my arguments in the poll thread about how i think the "console port excuse" doesn't really stand as an excuse for the pathetic interface and ...

Re: Who likes the new Tales of Monkey Island?

I predicted the series from Telltale would not be any good, but nevertheless I have purchased the first episode and really tried to like it. Unfortunately the more I play it, the more it pushes me away. I think i would never be able to get used to the control interface. Sure the 3d graphics are grea...

I suspect the new 3d series by Telltale is going to be crap, but the remake (special edition) will be awesome.

Personally i am a big fan of Jane Jensen (i loved the Gabriel Knight series) and i am looking forward for Grey Matter to come out which i am definitely buying. I just hope the game doesn't disappoint me like Three Cards Before Midnight, which was the biggest disappointment that i had from buying a c...

These posts might provide some solutions. Whether it will work or not depends on your graphics card and your monitor. The posts are mostly about experimenting with the available filters but towards the end they also provide graphic card and monitor adjustments that might do the trick. http://www.agd...

Re: Part of the problem for adventure games

I have always been willing to purchase any "GOOD" adventure game that came out. However this doesn't imply that i am willing to accept that every game that is thrown to me is good. I think the trouble with the latest games in general is the lack of creativity and new ideas. Most of the rec...

Re: Adventure-Game Studio...Best choice?

I never got to finish Grim Fandango either, the whole story looked quite interesting, and it had ton of interesting characters to meet, i guess i just didn't like being forced to control the main character via the keyboard and also i hated the inventory system. I think it would have been much better...

Re: Adventure-Game Studio...Best choice?

In response to the above post, A vampire story and the new Sam & Max series both have cartoon graphics, but in my opinion they are far from being good adventure games. Although the new Sam & Max series seems to be well received among the adventure gaming community, personally i didn't like i...

Re: Adventure-Game Studio...Best choice?

The reason is AGDI wanted to recreate the games with the nostalgic feeling of the Sierra games of the mid 90s. I think almost everyone can agree that those were the best times for Sierra's games. The games were great and the graphics were beautiful. There's something about pixelated 320x200 256 col...

What's wrong with people creating their own speech or language packs? Does it have to do with legal issues?

Re: What's next for ADGI / Himalaya Studios?

The combat system used to trouble me too but then i realized that the problem wasn't the actual combat system, but actually the fact that my character stats were too low. People who play magic user and start from scratch (no import) will certainly find the combat system to be hard. My advice is to a...

You can set custom resolutions and scaling from the nvidia control panel IF you own an nvidia video card. Those 2 options fixed all my problems with AGS games so far. Also check your monitor menu in case you have aspect ratio setting, my samsung T240 has a setting like that which lets me switch from...

What's next for ADGI / Himalaya Studios?

First of all i would like to thank ADGI for the awesome work they have put into reviving the old classics. Speaking for myself, i would definitely say that all the 3 remakes done by AGDI are not only up to par with the quality work of Sierra's most esteemed VGA titles, but they surpass any expectati...

The reason i said new version is because i guess they would like to fix afew bugs along the way as well, if they go into all the trouble of recording speech and lip-synching the game.

Future Version of QFG2VGA (speech maybe)?

After seeing the amount of work put into the recent KQ2VGA release (over 3,800 lines of narration audio by John Bell, as Anonymous Game Creator 2 mentions), it just came to me that QFG2VGA (which happens to be my favorite game of all time) is the only game made by AGD that stick lacks spoken dialog....
