Re: New Laptops - Advice Please?
I just upgraded off a Macbook Pro into this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8892825&st=p-7811FX&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1211587727985 This is by the best gaming laptop for the least amount of money I've ever seen. The reviews for this thing are across the board s...

Hmmm... I can't actually find the update on the site itself where the delay in shipping is addressed. Nonetheless, a word of advice: Email your buyers directly with updates next time around. It'll make your lives and their lives much easier.

Ok what is up with the Al Emmo and QFG2 poster shipments?
Okay - so back on August 7th, I ordered the Al Emmo Collector's Edition so that I could get the official QFG2 poster. According to the page, a month later, neither item has shipped yet. I realize a few weeks ago that I was told both items had to ship together (which I presume is so that Himalya can ...

I'm on the beta team for DOSBox and believe me: 0.72 is a vast improvement over 0.62. 0.73 (or whatever the final version number applied) appears to be in a prolonged development state. We got a beta for it a few months back but beyond that it looks like it'll be awhile before something beyond 0.72 ...

Re: Mac compatibility
Really? thats really cool, what program did you use? virtual pc or something? Any Mac you buy nowadays contains pretty much the same hardware as PCs. You can boot Windows natively on any Mac sold within the last two years. Bootcamp is a package that Apple provides to make Mac installation easy. It ...

As promised, I'm trying to play the game under OS X. Thus far I've tried only Crossover Games (as I must get ready for work now) and the game appears to mostly work. I was able to install, configure and play it. The launcher doesn't appear to work under Crossover however. You can run winsetup.exe di...

That's just the launcher. I got money down that he hasn't got the actual game. Getting the launcher is shall we say, less difficult.

Re: ** HOLY HINT BOOKS! COURSE 5 HAS APPEARED! **
Well I'm the kind of person that finds things like silly jokes, artwork, new teaser content (like trailers and the fan pack) and David Bowie References fun but I suppose if I were to delude myself and become dull, whiny and demanding I could see how you could consider them a waste of time. I wish t...

Re: ** COURSE 4 IS IN...SESSION. DAMN THIEVES! **
As for site updates, it was never mentioned that we'd have a specific schedule for them OR for the game's release. If you feel like you're owed something and have been let down, that's your own mind holding us to promises we didn't make. It should serve as a good indication of why we don't mention ...

Re: ** COURSE 4 IS IN...SESSION. DAMN THIEVES! **
Seeing that it's been a week since the last meaningful update, I'd say there is no pattern. I'd say other things too, but given the level of locking that has occurred recently and the low tolerance of the community towards mature discussion on matters that might reflect less than kindly on the team'...

Re: Hype shrouded in mystery
I think what AGDI doesn't realize is this: Some of us have been following this project for eight years. Some of us have been salivating for it. The fact that I've come hear to check out the dev journals/updates once a week like clockwork since this project started is enough to prove that. Those of y...

Re: Hype shrouded in mystery
I love posts like this. You're insinuating that the game won't be released for months/years in order to draw out an "Oh, really? Well, it'll be released on the 22nd of August, smart guy!" type of response, right? Ho ho - good luck with that. I don't think it's like that at all. I think it...

Re: QFG1 Bug - highly annoying, but not impossible to play with
It's almost like you have a bugged version of the game. What version of DOSBox are you using? Is it installed from a binary package, or did you build it yourself? I myself use an internal beta build for 0.73 distributed back in March on OS X. Perhaps it's a graphics driver issue. What output method ...

Re: QFG2 VGA Prepartion - Show us your QFG1 character!
So in preparation for the imminent release (I hope), I finished replaying QG2 EGA with my character from QG1. I figure this will allow me to better compare the two games. My fighter hybrid, Un-Spoken was indeed granted Paladin status at the end of the game. That was nice to see as I usually play thi...

Re: Character Templates and Saved Games
I've just finished implementing a last-minute change into the QFG2 remake; a GUI which will allow you to select the correct character profession if it gets incorrectly imported. It works just like QFG3's version. Malekdarshin, I tested it with the .sav character you sent me and changing his class t...

My answer to Mac users: - Darwine (The Darwin Unix port of WINE, the reverse-engineered system32 libraries) - Cider : Uses some of the WINE engine to make it specifically easy to use games. Darwine is pretty much a dead project. Cider is difficult for most people because you have to integrate the a...

There is, in fact, a lot of hard work going on here - not to mention the server nightmare I have had to deal with in order to house our new websites. My "design decision" has actually saved us quite a bit of time. If you'd like, I can create a stylesheet, cut the page up meticulously, and...

Re: Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine has been released!
My god! People complain about just about everything! You can think for yourself that if they have their own credit card system the game would need to be quite a bit more expensive to cover the costs. Besides, PayPal is pretty secure, so you should be happy. No it wouldn't. Most credit card processo...
