Re: Mage's Initiation Kickstarter?

I don't think any ks should offer IOS versions of the game as a reward, but you can still have IOs as a stretch goal. For instance I have backed qfi and will get a free pc download However their is a good chance I will buy the game for my iPad if it is reasonably priced. Though personally I think th...

Re: Mage's Initiation Kickstarter?

that is great news about the platforms. Are you still working for a Feb kick starter? I think it is important to have a bit of a build up to your kickstarter. You want your first day to be a big one and for that to happen people need to know about it and have had time to think about what they may wa...

Re: Mage's Initiation?

Yeah maybe I was being a bit ridiculous picking up on the use of th word investor. I know you guys would always treat KS money as a serious thing, I guess what I was meaning is KS money comes withou a lot of the complications of investors. As long as backers get what they were promised on time then ...

Re: Mage's Initiation?

Technically it's considered a paid job and getting a large number of people to do it for free could be considered illegal since it eschews minimum wage laws I am unsure of employment law elsewhere but I wouldn't imagine you would have problems signing testers up for free. If you wanted to get them ...

Re: So what's this about a 'Kings Quest Reboot' they're maki

Considering the work of Gilbert, Schaefer and Grossman since each of them left LucasArts, I think it is easy to see who was and who wasn't the real brains/talent responsible for the success of MI and DOTT. Telltale's episodic games, while polished, can't hold a candle to those LucasArts classics. N...

Re: Hero 6 Demo Playthrough Videos

From my understanding a lot of the time consideration would depend on how tidy the scripting was. Often fan games have sloppy scripting and as such it can take a lot of time to decipher. I was not suggesting that would be slower then making something new just that it would still be a big project, gi...

Re: Hero 6 Demo Playthrough Videos

Trying to finish off someones half completed project is a MUCH bigger job then you are suggesting. I think both the teams you have mentioned above would rather spend time creating new projects then trying to resurrect an old half done one. Though agreed it is a shame to see so much work go down the ...

Re: Kickstarter

Would you consider using some pre-order system (not ks)where people also got the feeling they were helping the game get finished by pre-ordering. I realise this puts admin work in during the development stage but surely any funds aid development and the press that a pre-order run would get is a good...

Kickstarter

So why haven't you guys crowd funded yet????I had mentioned this in another thread and AGDI had indicated that they didn't see Kickstarter as an avenue that could raise considerable amounts for a game. I wonder if recent projects have changed their view on that? I know one of the other reasons you i...

Flip it is looking pretty likely too. That is a lot of money pledged. Really makes me wonder if AGDI should reconsider a kick starter, that might make getting some rights very doable.

hmm wonder what the pricing on this would be. I think a game like larry 1 really need to be remade as a plus and fleshed out a bit more if it is to be released commercially
