Order of the Thorne : The King's Challenge by Infamous Quest
We've been working on a couple of new titles since the release of Quest for Infamy and the first one is Order of the Thorne : The King's Challenge. Order of the Thorne Order of the Thorne is an anthology series about a group of Knights and Monks who are charged with doing good and keeping evil force...

Re: King's Quest IV Remake?
Not that I'm involved with AGDI in any way (except for being a fan) but they have a fan-licence for their remakes (KQ1-3 and QFG2.) But I believe that they aren't allowed to start any new remakes under that licence. They've really moved into original games now anyway, with Al Emmo and their new one ...

Re: The problem with indie adventures
I'd agree with that from KQArtist, except that the problem with our chosen engine, AGS, is that it's not made for more than a single programmer at a time. Currently I'm fixing some typographical issues in SQ2 for IA, so Gargin can't work on tweaking the mines until I'm done and hand back the source....

Re: Games by Himalaya?
As far as I'm aware, those games are cross-promotions from Big Fish games, who released their HOG Al Emmo game a little while back. I don't believe they've got anything to do with Himalaya. I could be wrong of course... As far as purchasing the Himalaya HOG game, it's not too bad (I'm a big fan of H...

Re: Serious thoughts about a KQ 5 Remake...
I have never considered a remake of KQ5. I think you'll find that people think KQ6 is the best in the series. But those who don't generally think KQ5 is. I prefer 5 because I love the story. I love the simplicity of the tale which is a man wanting to rescue his family. He encounters obstacles and me...

I think the Floating Castle was quite good. In fact, it annoyed me in novel form because I wasn't playing it!

Telltale have a commercial license, it's a far cry from a fan license such as AGDI or POS hold.

At the end of the day, the proof of whether Telltale did good will be in the sales figures. That's what it's all about.

Re: Telltale to Reboot King's Quest
Naturally, they'd look out for their own interests, but my point is that to do so willingly and knowingly at the expense of others, particularly in such a tight-knit niche/community, is a shitty thing to do. Earlier you stated that you never approached Activision for a license to go commercial on t...

I love it.
To quibble though, I missed the two notes at the end of the fanfare which were usually accompanied by the two glistening bits on the logo in the classic games.

Website Update
Hey folks,
Was just browsing your website proper and found a minor issue.
http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/games.html
On your games page, the graphic / link for KQ3 still claims "Soon" instead of "New"
Just a headsup.

Re: Future Remake: Part Deux
To be fair, IA's first release looked better than AGDI's as far as background art is concerned. But you also need to remember than AGDI were the first team to get into this remake business. We obviously looked at what they had done and improved if we could. Two points I remember from the time were ...

Shadow comes from the direction of the sun, that helps to keep consistency in an individual screen. Think where the sun (or source of light) would be and always draw your shadows from that direction.

Re: Possibility of KQ5, KQ6, & KQ7 Remake?
A lot of conversations about Sierra games tend to end up in the whole "dead ends are bad" thing. I don't get it. I played the vast majority of these games as an early teenager and I never thought of dead ends as a bad thing. I still don't. If you screw up, restore to an earlier spot. Can i...

I think it's just more time consuming that hard. Having experimented with it in SQ2 I just couldn't be bothered with the whole thing.

I'm pretty he's shooting in New Zealand the same as the LOTR trilogy.DrJones wrote:I thought these laws were specifically changed so that Peter Jackson could still shoot The Hobbit in Australia, but I don't know the specifics. By the way, they start shooting the film this month.
