Re: Quest for Glory Anthology Installer
Oh, and note, it mounts the folder you specify as a save characters folder to drive D:, so when you save a character for a later game, save it to D:\<your filename>.sav. Then to import, change directory to D:\ and it should have your files. I was originally going to map that to A: but for some reaso...

Re: So, You Wanna Remake QFG?
It's hard to balance the obscure-plot-trigger problem with the realism problem. The fact that Manu will take you to the lost city and pretend like he knows you, regardless of whether you freed him or not, is somewhat annoying to me... but after the peace conference, were this not the case, you'd be...

Quest for Glory Anthology Installer
OK, because I was bored this afternoon, I wrote a GUI installer for the QFG Anthology. It's written in C# so you'll need an updated .NET runtime from Microsoft (.NET 2.0 or greater is needed in this version). It installs the games, fixes DOSBox config files, and creates shortcuts for you to launch t...

Re: I just found this....
The anthology CD is perfect :) I just played through them all just as you intend to, using the anthology (and, of course, QFG2 VGA). http://www.dosbox.com is what you need to get started. I think I'll code an installer for the anthology that sets up dosbox and makes shortcuts, as even I'm gonna forg...

Re: Warning RE: NewRisingSun's QFG4 fixes
Yes, the patches are still needed with the anthology. NewRisingSun's QFG3 patch worked great for me, but I played without his QFG4 patch after having issues. (Granted, I think the issue with the event mistriggering was related to the fact I was moving savegames between the patched and unpatched vers...

Re: Please make easy combat patch !!!
I like these ideas. I was very fast without money when I tried to play in normal. Because you can train with Uhura, but you cannot beat a single monster without good stats, so you don't get any more money. I play now a thief, Turned on copilot on defensive and the skill level to easy and still the ...

Warning RE: NewRisingSun's QFG4 fixes
I found to my dismay that the fix can itself cause new bugs. While playing, I had the following happen: 1. Wraith combat would lock up the game -- it wouldn't show the wraith animations at all on the main screen, and it hung forever trying. Makes the game impossible as you can't get the Heart ritual...

[Edit: I see Erpy has said no in this game in the other thread. It's a shame though because it was fun to do EOF, the robberies and WIT all in one game! Oh well!] You can. You take a fighter and add in the other skills. Since there's only 3 skills lacking (magic, pick locks, and stealth) you can do...

Re: Unfamiliar with the new stats
Hello everybody, I've only played QFG 1 and 5 before, and remember nothing of the latter. I'm therefore unfamiliar with the two new stats: communication and honor. I understand that communication effects bargaining ability - does it do anything else? Does greeting and saying goodbye and overall pol...

Re: The most evil Sierra Person
The bad dudes from the Shivers games freaked me out. I'm not sure they're EVIL so much as unsettling though. Also, I'm sure Betrayl at Krondor and Lighthouse have very evil characters in them, if I could just stop sucking at those games enough to GET anywhere. Well, if you get technical, that was a...

After a Jackalman jumped away from my side, I kept pushing 5 and the hero kept kicking left, then right, then left again. It looked like he was doing some wacky dance. It was pretty funny. You can dance if you want to. You can leave your friends behind. Edit: Actually... apart from the pants & ...

You don't dispel her. The dispel potion is something else. When you left town on day 12, didn't the guard tell you someone wanted to see you?
In Quest for Glory 3, you tell the tree-hugging hippy alchemist about Julanar and he heads up to Shapier to meet her, and presumably he works to cure her.

Re: Which of these is cheating?
Yep, turning the game speed up speeds up the Griffon's wake animation, making this a lot faster. It's not really all that fast for me, even on max speed. But the speed slider seems to do very little on my PC (unless I set it to the very bottom, which is extremely slow). But there's no significant d...

Re: Trouble accepting aziza's tea
Yup. QFG2 VGA (and 3+) all use the mouth icon in two ways:
On someone else -- ask
On yourself -- tell
You get the most communication/honor if you use both. That is, greet and say farewell to everyone.

Re: Climbing
Yep, you never need any stats apart from those you start with, and in fact in my opinion it's more fun and challenging to play each class pure. Climbing is (at this point in the series) a thief-only stat (in QFG4 paladins and fighters get it too, wizards might be able to learn it but they have levit...

Yeah, I've played it through on all three classes for full points (except the mage, forgot to ask the genie about "wishes" that time) It's a fantastic remake, Sierra at their pinnacle couldn't have done it better themselves. It stays true to the original yet adds unique and challenging asp...

Both the Griffin and Rakeesh thing were glitches and will be fixed in future builds. Another very useful hint is one of the "secret" dialog options that you don't list.
If you ask Shema about "money changer" *before* you meet Dinarzad, she'll teach you the names of all the streets in English, very useful especially for the Brigand in the City quest.

Actually found a QFG4 bug related to that in fact.
If I turn on strategic combat, my paladin tries to cast Flame Dart in combat, and then the game promptly CTDs as it realizes it can't do that.
