Re: So, You Wanna Remake QFG?

Ooh, his sound effects sound awesome in that video. I wonder if it's possible to make DOSBox do that. Back in the day when I ran Win98 or so, I set the game to General MIDI and it sounded pretty sweet. DOSBox has the authentic sound of the SB16, but... it has the authentic sound of the SB16.

Re: So, You Wanna Remake QFG?

Fair enough, but the problem lies not only in the risk of feeding the gate orb, but the risk of having the spell completely absorbed, such that Kreesha's MP is drained into the gate orb and doesn't open the portal at all. Her comments from earlier in the game seem to indicate this is what happened w...

Re: So, You Wanna Remake QFG?

There are two portals in the game -- the one from Shapeir to Tarna and the one from Tarna to the Lost City. The portal from Tarna to the Lost City happens in (conveniently) the time it takes for you to walk there (about two nights, if I recall)... of course, Kreesha probably started preparing the po...

Re: So, You Wanna Remake QFG?

2. At the end of the peace conference, instead of locking you out of Tarna, you get locked in as the liontaurs prepare for war. You have to befriend Harami who knows a secret way out of the city. Points for cleverness... but would it be pull-off-able? I mean, if Tarna has those massive, elaborate g...

Re: So, You Wanna Remake QFG?

Actually, the problem isn't her being in Mordavia; that could just be her deciding to move after the Hero returned the Baron's kids. The problem is the presumption that you did transform her into a frog. Point conceded. In two games' time, she could have conceivably gotten tired of the things Spiel...

Re: So, You Wanna Remake QFG?

It's hard to balance the obscure-plot-trigger problem with the realism problem. The fact that Manu will take you to the lost city and pretend like he knows you, regardless of whether you freed him or not, is somewhat annoying to me... but after the peace conference, were this not the case, you'd be ...

Re: Saying goodbye to priestess in QG3 results in paladin points

No, no, I realize that's how it works... I'm just made curious as to why that particular series of events happens. You say goodbye, you get 3 (or 2) paladin/honor points, the statue tells you to get out, the priestess tells you to get out, the statue tells you to get the gem and come back. It's very...

Saying goodbye to priestess in QG3 results in paladin points

Okay, this one I can't figure out. I decided my plan of attack for the Trial by Fire remake would be to do a perfect-play through QG1 once for each class, then import into the remake. Following the fighter path and importing it into QG3, I decided to muck around in the temple of Sekhmet to see what ...
