Re: Buying Roland MT32 Sound Module
Yes anyone can get whatever they wish, but the VSC isn't free and isn't near as good as a real sound canvas. Whatever higher quality it has over the Microsoft GW synth is not worth the price. When the comparison is to Microsoft GS synth, VSC is the same as an SC-55. I finally got around to doing an...

Re: Buying Roland MT32 Sound Module
People who are interested in synths should try as many as they want. I think as long as you know that the softsynths were created so that they didn't harm the hardware synth sales, there is nothing wrong with them. Re: Buying Roland MT32 Sound Module
All sorts of synths have been described in this thread... Except the one I use in addition to my MT-32. If you run Windows XP, try and get ahold of Virtual Sound Canvas 3 (usually v3.2). Re: New AGDI site goes live & King's Quest I Re-released!
It's hard to have millions of colors on a screen containing only 64,000 pixels True, but 32-bit/24-bit color(32-bit is commonly 24-bit, the extra 8-bits being available for transparency effects) is still an accurate description. 16-bit color would be incorrect, because 16-bit color works out to 6 b...

Re: Damn condor!!!
I wish I had read this thread two days ago.. I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to catch the condor. I saw a little cross in the dirt, and figured that must be it, then spent a lot of time experimenting west of the cross. Probably 100 attempts, the last third in slow-mo. I got it on the s...
