Nice to see all these names, still.
Forums are still my preferred method of online communication for sure!
I kind of loathe Facebooks and other social media stuff.

On the Sierrahelp pages, Collector says he's releasing his own fix soon; it's hopeful since he's working on fixing the mill / axe freeze problem as well.

Re: Windows XP to 7 Compatibility
Only W7 Pro and up have XP-mode, so beware of that. Dosbox works like a charm, so all Dosbox games should give you no trouble (maybe KQ7). I don't use the SierraHelp installers because I can't get my MIDI modules to work with them. Qfg5 can give you trouble, depending on whether you can install the ...

Today is the day we hear back on whether or not we're accepted for a townhouse we've applied for. It's the only affordable one available that suits our needs after our landlord isn't allowing us to renew our lease in our current dwelling place. So if this falls through we'd have to find another pla...

Re: Windows 7
Well, it's not really software rendered since it builds on the native OpenGL. But...now I'm not so sure if it's actually working; I've read nowhere that it can. I can select the 3Dfx option, and the game plays, but what am I seeing in the game? Is it secretly using DirectDraw with different options?...

The point is that you can emulate the voodoocard in a win98 virtual machine and play KQ8 with it.

Re: Windows 7
Yeah it's very hopeful! Regarding KQ8 and the glide wrapper, virtual machines don't emulate a 3d graphics driver of any kind so anything other than software rendering won't work at all wrapper or not. That's why I shy away from virtual machines for old Win95/98 games. Virtual machines don't support ...

Well, actually, I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7, and got everything up and running with more ease than expected. Kq8; installed it in Win98 in Virtual Machine. Also installed a GlideWrapper to emulate the Voodoo3fx card, even though the game can't launch while in that mode. Qfg5; A nat...

Re: Episodic releases VS. Full releases?
I detest episodic releases. It feels like I'm consciously buying an incomplete product. Also, that the word 'season' being used in some cases is annoying, because it's something totally different. Agd2 sums up the rest of my troubles with it.

Well. Just bought Starcraft 2: Collector's Edition as one of the first people on the planet. Waited two hours in front of the doors of the stores, which opened at midnight. There was also a goodie bag with a T-shirt, a poster, stickers, etc.
