I'm about to leave as an eagle. Is there any use for the crow's nest area, other than a way to die while you're initially exploring the ship?

So, I screwed up and gave Mannanan (cool how this game draws from Celtic myth, which you can tell I like) the mutton. What can I give the eagle now? A chicken? And you might as well tell me where the mud is, since that's the only ingredient that I don't have. A riverbank, I assume?

The self-loathing nerdery on display in that site's comments is really obnoxious, isn't it? They make a big point of saying that THEY would NEVER wear shoes like that, of course not! They're not THOSE kind of nerds.
