Sierra On-Line Interaction
Hey all, I want to take a moment to introduce you to Sierra On-Line Interaction, my pet project which is basically converting the Interaction Magazine issues into an indexable (is that even a word?!?!), searchable, and easily viewable wiki format with extensive hooks to Sierra Chest, Sierra Help Pag...

Re: You have chosen....*spoilers*
Also, anyone else see the irony in the guy from the TSL team chastising AGDI for "fourth wall breaking?" (Especially when this puzzle was not, in fact, fourth wall breaking at all.) I was only a temporary admin for Phoenix Online Studios.... and haven't been affiliated with them since Sep...

Well definitely count me in for the Limited Edition. I have been dying for a new adventure/RPG hybrid for quite some time and this sounds like it's right up my alley.

Re: You have chosen....*spoilers*
Maybe you should have not quick-clicked through his monologue - he realized that material things are totally worthless (he pretty much states that outright). So, Pirate or not, he learned his lesson in the end. I don't. And I think Gwydion who said that piece about being worthless. Seran might moti...

Re: UGLY SIDE of KQIII Redux
For that particular encounter, I just saved my game at the base of the tree, climbed the ladder, then turned into a fly and entered the hideout. If the bandit was awake, restore game and repeat. Once the bandit was asleep, I changed back into Alexander, grabbed the bag of gold, then left. I only had...

Re: You have chosen....*spoilers*
I guess this Seran puzzle only becomes difficult if you try to apply too much logical thought. So what your saying is... the puzzle is rooted more in guessing the designers intention (which, in this case, guessing what the puzzle designer felt the importance order of the 3 items are) than it is roo...

Re: You have chosen....*spoilers*
Unfortunately, the fact that you have to explain the puzzle so much shows it's a puzzle that is not based on logic and is instead based on "what the designer intended". Don't get me wrong though... it's a great throwback to the Sierra days... but it's definitely going to cause some frustra...

Ah but to Gwydion/Alexander.... not getting the treasure = death. Ergo, the player who is controlling Gwydion/Alexander might feel the jewel is kind of an important element to continue living life.

Re: You have chosen....*spoilers*
You see, my thought process was you needed shelter from the elements before you could find food. In order to build a shelter, you would need the appropriate knowledge. So my initial thought was book, planks, food. After all, what good is having food if you are unable to protect yourself from the ele...

I just have one question before I read the article.... who did Manannan's theme? Because I seriously want to shake that person's hand. It is haunting and beautiful and strikes all the right emotional chords. Absolutely brilliant!

Re: You have chosen....*spoilers*
I just ended up doing the A, B, C thing, since the jewel (wealth) isn't a part of the solution (which, along with the A, B, C idea was the only hints I needed to solve the puzzle). Food = A Planks = B Book = C It took me 3 tries once I assigned a letter to each item. Like the hint I was given stated...

Oh I hope you all decide to do one last final remake.... and if you do, please let it be KQ4. It would be great to finish off the AGDI storyline... especially considering KQ3Redux ends practically screaming "To Be Continued...."

Re: You have chosen....*spoilers*
I can use a little help on this one as well. I tried applying Erpy's "stuck on an island" analogy (food, planks, book), but didn't get anywhere. Then I tried it in reverse (book, planks, food)... same result. Then I tried planks, food, and jewel... nothing. Then I tried jewel, planks, food...

I've reached the point in the game where I need to steal the pouch of gold from the bandits treehouse lair so I can buy the missing spell ingredients I need to make the remaining spells (cat cookie, storm spell, etc). In the 1986 original game, you spied on the bandits in the tavern by turning into ...

Re: The Silver Lining Cease and Desist
You're assuming unpaid tribute fangames = all of the indie development world. Activision can easily support indie development of new titles unrelated to IPs the company currently holds while still keeping old rights tight to the chest. It's annoying, but true. Very true... but let me ask you this. ...

Re: The Silver Lining Cease and Desist
I would agree with what you wrote AGC2 except for one thing... Bobby Kotic (CEO of Activision) gave a keynote address at this year's DICE in regards to the company's desire to encourage and foster indie game development. The TSL C&D came shortly after DICE and completely destroys Bobby Kotic's c...

Re: The Silver Lining Cease and Desist
AGD2, I can assure you the petition(s) we're doing do not and will not have anything to do with AGD, IA, or any other fan-developer group. Our focus is solely and squarely on TSL and the effects the C&D has on TSL and Activision. I feel what Activision has done is reprehensible... but the Save T...
