Very true.
On another note, I realized that I've been registered here for over six years and still have less than 100 posts.

Mark all posts read
Dunno if it matters, but this button no longer works for me. I mean, it still *says* it's marked them all as read, but as soon as the forum list refreshes, nothing actually has been marked as read. I've tried logging out, deleting cookies, etc.

Re: just something out of curiosity for older fans
I have two letters from the Coles stashed away somewhere. I think I posted their contents here a few years ago. One was written to me after Trial by Fire came out, and the other right after Wages of War was released. Both contain some interesting nostalgia-type info. I just remember being a huge Sie...

Re: Completed QFG2 char sheets (Semi-spoilerish kinda maybe)
Anyone else notice those "bonus" stamina points? I noticed something similar (with a higher current than maximum) when I beat the game as well. Is this a bug?

Re: You've Been Playing Too Much QfG2 When . . . (Spoilers)
My wife walked into a room to find my two-year-old daughter holding her hands over her eyes. When she asked what my daughter was doing, my daughter said, "I'm raising my skills!" Yes, I think my daughter has watched me play a wee bit of Quest for Glory recently (though I'm still not sure w...

Yes, but only thieves get the skill, correct? Or can you "buy" it when you import your character? Man, being able to backflip into a chernovy's face with a flaming sword...perfection.Brainiac wrote:I believe anyone with the Acrobatics Skill can launch an acrobatic attack in QfG4 or QfG5.

Re: Importing into QFG3
Well, I started QFG3 again last night for the first time in about five or six years. I still remember virtually everything about the game (just wasn't remembering the details about importing, as explained above). After confirming that thieves do not gain paladin points, I started as a hybrid paladin...

Re: Importing into QFG3
Eh, points don't matter all that much to me. I just want maxed-out stats and to experience as much of the game as possible (hence the hybrid character). Heck, I maxed out pick locks and stealth in QFG2VGA with a fighter/wannabe paladin.

Re: Importing into QFG3
But he's such a jerk...oh, fine. I'll be nice. I guess I'll import as a thief, run over to the moneychanger, catch the thief (as a fighter/paladin you chase after him, right?), and then *try* to be nice to Rakeesh's jerk of a brother.

Re: Importing into QFG3
Hmm, very true. What's the quickest/easiest way to gain honor (from the beginning of the game, I mean)? The only specific way I remember is to feed the thief, and that requires waiting a day. Now that I think about it, can't you talk about Honor with the Laibon?

Re: Importing into QFG3
Huh, I remember spamming dried meat on the thief dude in the marketplace at night and gaining all of the paladin abilities in about five minutes. I guess that I'll play QFG3 as a paladin to gain those abilities, then import into SoD as a thief. Now, as long as my paladin is a hybrid, he can still pi...

Re: Importing into QFG3
Thanks for the refresher. I still can't remember if the grapnel was in QFG3 or not; so, can a character who qualified to become a paladin at the end of QFG2 who's imported as a thief in Wages of War get paladin abilities (given a high-enough Honor)?

Importing into QFG3
I hope this isn't off-topic. It's been (many) years since I've sat down and played through these games. I've always been a fan of the every-stat hybrid characters, and I'm just about to finish my second play-through of the remake with a hybrid fighter (with every skill maxed out). As I said, it's be...

I was able to get both the sand dome and trash can. As for the basket, you can put sand it in (out in the desert). Likewise with the pot: it stores dirt. I'll let you figure out what to do with said items.

Re: *SUPER SPOILER* The biggest easter egg in the game.
Perhaps we can post what *didn't* work. I was thinking about "What would Jesus do?" Well, honestly, if Jesus found a discarded pizza box on the ground, he'd throw it away. Alas, clicking the pizza box on any of the (many) empty barrels in the city does nothing.

Okay, I'm ready for a no-holds-barred spoiler--what with the kids and my job and all, I just don't have 24 hours to find a monster pizza. Just toss me a PM. Thanks!

Okay, sounds good--I'll keep at the tree. I do have the rope (even though I'm a fighter), but my understanding is that it has limited uses.

Climbing problem?
My climbing skill is 87, I believe. When I try to climb the griffon's cliff, I'm told that I'm too experienced (the cliff flares out at the top, yadda yadda). However, when I try to climb the tree at the oasis, I'm told I'm not experienced enough. Where can I practice to get ready to tackle the tree?

Okay, I had no problems with the first three steps at all. The fourth, however...grumble. I've tried entering the intersection of Sharki Darb and the Tarik of Stars from every possible direction, but nothing happens. It's night...about midnight on day 5. Am I missing something?
