Ok, so I just tried switching to a windows basic theme and it fixed it, switching back to my original aero theme doesnt change anything in the middle of the game. It's still running fast now. I don't really know if this fixed it or if it randomly fixed somehow. Hopefully it doesn't pull this again.

Did you ever figure it out? This just happened to me and its driving me crazy. Been playing daily with no problems at all. All of a sudden tonight battles go unbearably slow.
