Re: Fly Wing Woes
I saw the cat in the tower the first time I went up there, but I did it very early on when Mannanan was still around; he was in the tower himself, in fact.

Would I be right to guess that debug mode is the reward for getting all the awards?

Re: Fish?
Thanks, Erpy! I found it after a bit more searching.
Finding it isn't necessary to finish the game; its only real use is as an alternate puzzle solution, since without it you could run into a dead end.

Fish?
This may be an odd question, but....
I finished the game without finding the dead fish. Since I'd like to get a perfect score, where/when can I find it?

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history
"Beige" was probably the wrong word to use. But yes, that is the KQ6 CD GUI. However it's always looked like tan/light brown to me (with a slight reddish undertone, sure, but hardly outright pink). Back to topic: I'm eager to see the new KQ3 GUI. I wonder if it'll look anything like, say, ...

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history
No, the CD version is purple and pink. At one point we copied the GUI from KQ6 CD as a placeholder. I and others on the team always thought that was an ugly scheme. The current GUI that we ended up with is more of a brownish/golden yellow scheme now and it looks quite nice. Eriq did a fantastic job...

So more like the KQ6 CD title screen, then?MusicallyInspired wrote:It only looks that yellow because of the photo. The colours are more washed out and brighter. In fact the buttons are more of a light brownish colour.

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history
The yellow buttons on that KQ3 Redux title screen remind me a lot of the KQ6 floppy version title screen. http://home.comcast.net/~ervind/kq6disktitle.png The CD version of KQ6 used tan buttons instead. In fact, the CD version interface as a whole was generally revamped and recolored from the floppy...

KQ6 early concept art for character portraits
I already started a topic about this at the Phoenix Online forums, but I figured I'd mention it here too. Apologies if this post seems image-heavy, but it illustrates a couple of points. On Akril's excellent Sierra Resource Files site , there are several sketches extracted from the resource files of...

If you bring up the screenshots from the Game Informer article with the in-page image viewer, you can right-click them and view them at full resolution.

As I recall it was a sound rip from Curse of Monkey Island, specifically the line where Murray introduces himself as "the all-powerful demonic skull."

Re: King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones v3.0 Released!
I thought one of the most striking new character portraits was that of the Ferryman. The old portrait showed him at some distance, so you saw less of his face. Now you see his moldy skull in all its g(l)ory. Also, were any of the voices rerecorded? I recall thinking the Sharkee King sounded differen...

Unused background images from the 1990 Sierra KQ1 remake
Hello there! I thought I'd share something interesting pertaining to the SCI remake of KQ1, what with the new AGD version released recently. http://home.comcast.net/~ervind/kq1scifinal2a.png http://home.comcast.net/~ervind/kq1scifinal1a.png This is how Castle Daventry looked in the SCI remake of KQ1...

Re: Other Easter Eggs
Also in regards to other unnoticed Easter Eggs, there's a reference which film buffs who have a good knowledge of Hollywood history/archived materials may pick up on. Nobody has noticed it yet, though, despite the same gag being used in literally hundreds of well-known films over the years. Heh, as...

Re: Possible to have HP, SP, MP bars at the top?
I think the interface in QFG2VGA was much more influenced by QFG3/QFG1VGA (which didn't have that feature) than it was by QFG4. Plus adding it in might involve some ugly extra coding.

Re: *SUPER SPOILER* The biggest easter egg in the game.
I actually thought up the turtle lair for two reasons: 1) because people kept asking me how to find the pizza elemental and i wanted you to find it yourself. 2) to entertain the makers of the game and myself ;) in fact, one admin (who will remain nameless) told me: "BTW, do you realize what ki...

I can see no matter what I say in defense of my strongly held philosophical viewpoint, I'm going to be labeled a childish whiner just because I disagree with the AGD team on some things. Oh well.

Re: Erpy, is there a Blue Frog Mode ???
Wow, imageblur was right. If you express a critical opinion around here a good chunk of the forumites will take it upon themselves to belittle you. (Though I will readily say, the AGD team has been very fair and articulate in responding to my criticism, so I can't fault them. They are indeed classie...

The full-body Djinni portrait was actually carried over from the original game: his sprite appeared within the text boxes whenever he was talking to you while you made your way to the Ritual Chamber.

Yeah, the fact that the AGDs' response when people are spending fruitless hours following false leads to Easter Eggs is not only to laugh in amusement, but even to perpetuate the misinformation, rather decreases my respect for them. It's not very professional. I could understand that certain cranks...
