Re: Remake Comparisons
I'm just a bit surprised that it can make plants grow, put out fires, make water appear out of nowhere, and even fix the castle walls. Why not just have Alexander use his storm brew to put out the fires and refill the rivers, and let nature grow the plants back? Graham will have to spring for the m...

is the absence of ‘Space Quest II: Vohaul’s Revenge’...yes I know that Infamous Adventures is in the process of redoing this classic as I type this...however based on their past re-makes I believe that AGDI would do a much better job at re-making this prestigious adventure classic. You're gon...

So, if one could, how would they remove the dead ends from KQ5? What are the major ones?

Yeah, well think of it like this - it's possible to die in Super Mario Bros. - but it just sends you back to the start of the world, not some three worlds before..... I like the possibility of dying in a game, but I don't want to have to rote repeat some area just because...

Yeah, it really is - but it seemed to not be as obtrusive. I don't know; in QFGIV, I thought it worked well.adeyke wrote:If the "automatic save" happens often enough, that would be just as good as the "retry".

I liked how in later games, like QFGIV for example, they had an "Automatic Save" feature, which would save your game for you in certain points.

I, on many occasions, have chosen a sandwich over great knowledge. And I must say, it was always the right decision.

I think people today are just really big babies who are used to being handed everything. I've never seen so much whining in my life as I've seen in discussions over dead-ends in adventure games.

Re: Parser/Text interface.... Why not?
I do love me a good parser.
Here's a bit of trivia: when we started SQ2VGA, we initially made it with both the icon and parser systems. Programming the parser proved to be a bit too much work, so we had to cut that feature out - as it was too much work for something only a few people would use.
