Re: Kings quest 2 what features will we get
There's a version of Wine for Mac, isn't there? Yep, it's called Darwine, but it doesn't work exactly the same as Wine does (i.e. some programs that run in Wine don't work in Darwine). I use it to run many Windows programs, but I haven't been able to run any AGS game yet. Dual boot is the best opti...

Re: New AGDI site goes live & King's Quest I Re-released!
I think there is one for AGDi. Yep, one for AGDI, and one for IA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGD_Interactive http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infamous_Adventures And I remember there was a list of all games that were remade at some point, in this very forum. That would be a good start for creating a ...

Re: General Quest for Glory discussions
Well, that's up to you. You could try Ebay to see if there's a cheaper deal. I'd say go for it, but I'm kind of a QFG freak and I just love every single game, but many people will tell you that QFG5 was the weakest of all the series. While it may seem it's more combat oriented, that's entirely up to...

Re: General Quest for Glory discussions
A couple of things: 1) Dragonfire is not included in the Anthology. The only thing included was the Dragonfire Soundtrack and Demo, but not the finished game. So if you only have 1 CD, you lost the soundtrack, but you never had QFG5 complete. 2) If you bought QFG5 AND the Anthology and you lost one ...

Re: Combat Spells Help?
Fighters need to drop (or better, store) their shield in order to cast spells. Wizards can cast spells if they already have them (you start the game without Force Bolt, for example.) However you can not cast projectile spells if the monster is right in front of you, you need to be one or two tiles a...

You have your vision and I have mine. I'll just advice the same you advice to me: research about Islam. I don't know where you get that Islam itself promotes violence. It's like saying christianity itself promotes violence because of the IRA terrorists, or because if you open the Old Testament is fu...

Uff. There's a good reason political discussions should not be allowed in a gaming community. Or elsewhere. I don't want to start a war here (enough wars in the real world already) but I can not remain silent. AGC2, I usually admire your opinions and the way you express yourself. You are obviously a...

If the points you are missing are Paladin Points and not score points, you can try restoring and rejecting paladinhood, that should unlock the debug mode (if you end up with 500 points, that is).

Re: QfG3 bug.
Mmh, I don't recall it exactly, but I'm pretty sure you don't need to restart. Thing is, the Laibon only accepts events one by one. So, if you get the horn, buy the gifts and dispel the leopard lady all in a single day, and then go to the Laibon, the game gets kind of screwed. You should try: 1) Put...

Also, I see no mention to the fact that the wizard can cast Calm at the lava room in the forbidden city to momentary stop the flames, making it easier to cross. This also happened in the original version, but in AGDI's version you even get a response.

Yeah, Raseir is to the east. Always has been. One could argue the hero crossed the POV-line in the desert when he watched the sunrise. http://www.agdinteractive.com/forum/images/avatars/moodpics/Nashmean.jpg Oops. Sorry but no. The hero watches the sunrise, then joins the caravan, which is travelli...

Re: QFG2VGA Restoring from different resolution
Changing resolution invalidates the save games of anything programmed with the AGS engine. AGDI can't do anything about it, unfortunately. Also, this has been brought up multiple times :) I know, that's why I found strange that I was able to restore games anyway. I wasn't implying the bug was not b...

QFG2VGA Restoring from different resolution
Not sure if this a bug, or if it belongs more to AGS than QFG2VGA, but I switched the resolution in the settings to 640x480, filter HQ 2x (or something like that) and I still was able to restore my previous games, which were saved under the normal 320 resolution. I thought this wasn't supposed to ha...

Re: *SUPER SPOILER* The biggest easter egg in the game.
Oh, OK, I just thought I'd give it a shot. I fight it with the speed all the way down but it remains too fast, specially when the pizzas fall in the same row, I can't even stand up. I'd still like to know Erpy's opinion, though. Would you say the video is clearly slow? (In terms of the optimal speed...

Re: *SUPER SPOILER* The biggest easter egg in the game.
WTF? Sorry, but I just saw the youtube video of the PE, and I have to say, in my computer the pizza thing moves at least twice that fast (even with the speed all the way down) and the pizzas fall like 5 times faster than that. I'd just like to know if the youtube video is playing at the "optima...

I think the trick is to click on certain "hotspots". Check the pictures. Questforglory cage1.JPG Questforglory cage2.JPG I tried to attach the save file as well, but it gives me a message: "The extension 015 is not allowed". If you really want it I guess I could zip it (zip would...

Some more small bugs
Again, none crashing small bugs: After Al Scurva already left, if you keep clicking the eye on the top part of the cage, it gives you the description of the beast. If you save using F5 while playing Aziza's game, the icon bar becomes available. Also, if you save using F5 while in the streets of Shap...

Yeah. I did as well, but let's face it, it's nowhere near the satisfaction of beating the sauce out of it. Sigh. After failing to beat the Pizza thing many times with my fighter, I cause the Trick option instead so I could get on with the game.

QFG2 Small bug
Very small, merely aesthetical and non-crashing, but nevertheless: If you are on any street with your walk icon selected, and cast a message-triggering spell (like Zap or Reversal), then move the walk icon until it turn into an arrow and press F6, the message will appear without border. That's it. H...

Just beat it with a fighter with all his skills at 100, after leaving my chainmail in the storage chest. I had 35 hp left after the battle. Kinda shows stats aren't always everything. Yeah, but you designed the combat system and the damned pizza thing! I'm sure you can beat it with your eyes closed...

Re: *SUPER SPOILER* The biggest easter egg in the game.
OK, so I maxed out my wizard and went back to look for Mr. Pizza. It seems to me the damage I inflict is exactly the same as before (basically, zero). My 200 flame dart doesn't help either. Three days ago I was filled with excitement, now I'm filled with frustration. I understand this is an optional...

Re: Playing through all 5 on a Mac now, any compatibility hints?
IIRC, Dragonfire was designed to work on both systems, and it seems it worked well in all Mac systems all the way to Tiger. If you have Leopard, tough luck.
