Any special tricks to weapon use as a thief?

I can beat Uhura but I get like 1 point of weapon use per match, sometimes 2... and I need 60 more points. I've tried slashing, stabbing, or just doing the slash/stab combo over and over, none seem very fast.

I've heard people say there's a third job for the moneychanger; she doesn't seem to want to give it to me (I'm on day 10 or so, and finished both the house and the weaponshop thefts).

Pretty sure lockpicking does nothing, as I had 180 lockpicking and 101 luck.

Building up Dodge (and going for as many lunge chances as possible) did the trick though. Plus it's fun to beat Uhura without ever actually pushing an attack button

As a thief, you can also stealth and get the drop on enemies. Get a dagger or two into them before the fight begins.

During a fight, if you're not directly next to the enemy, Q throws daggers as well.
