Y'know, I always believed this was a myth made up by parser fans. I never ran into that problem. It doesn't happen often but no, in my case it is not an excuse. It doesn't really matter whether the interface is cursor or parser based to me. Here is an example of a cursor based game being overly pic...

So I figured an IP check wouldn't hurt and I noticed the two were one and the same. If I am right, two posts from different user accounts having the same IP address could mean that posts were made by different people using computers on a local area network. It could also mean that two different peo...

They did remove all the text from the game. It's simply not in the resource files. Otherwise you could have probably hacked the game by editing its Resource.cfg file or removing the files containg the speech. I don't remember what to edit in the Resource.cfg file and I don't know if either hack wou...

Annoying indeed, I don't see why just fixing the bug and updating the game would be that much of a problem, as I understand it there are more bugs that could be fixed. Compiling in itself is not. But we uphold a rather high threshold for new versions of our games, as far as rare or non-fatal bugs go...

I think I agree, the condor part was hard, especially grabbing it's talons??. Also, the beanstalk wasn't very easy to climb, I fell at least once but it isn't as hard as in the original King's Quest I remake. The tunnels in the mountain which lead to cloudland aren't very easy either, I walked off t...

without Win running in the background). And I meant with Windows running in the background, if you don't have Windows running in the background it really doesn't matter what version of Windows you have when running MS-DOS programs does it? As for sound drivers, it could be an issue. Even in '98, so...

Note: edited to prevent further misunderstandings. Which operating system is best? Based on my experiences I would say Microsoft Windows 98 SE. It gives lots of freedom to MS-DOS programs unlike Windows NT/XP. Windows 98 also has less bugs than Windows 95, I noticed that some DOS programs actually r...

I am afraid that you are wrong Swift. Valanice blew up about 20 times and the game still wouldn't let me skip. What does the Version file in your KQ7 directory say? My Version file says I have ver. 2.00b. Also after how many times is supposed to let you skip? did you try running it through dosbox? w...

This might be slightly off topic but maybe some one knows this: I was playing Kings Quest 7 for MS-DOS on my 500mhz Pentium III, unlike most of Sierra's SCI games it had very little to no speed related problems :( . There was one speed related problem, one that didn't bother me on my previous comput...
