Any 'Quest' RPG games out there?

Hey folks, This just occured to me as I checked the forums- I've been playing a lot of freeware RPG games, made with RPG Maker and the like (I like RM2K quite a bit). Since I've seen adventure games done with the RPG engine, or RPG's which are really stories where you sometimes fight random battles ...

Two more things:

1. If you made more progress, I'd be willing to help out by recreating the original CB music for you (see link in my signature).

2. I love the avatar- Larry 7, right? (Been a while since I played it :) )

(Broomie: hint: It's a troll.) I can't believe noone told me about this- this is really promising! I hope something comes of this project (I've been a part of 2 failed SQ fangames :( ). On CB, I agree with a bit of what everyone's said. Mainly Laur though- there are obvious flaws with CB, and I'd sa...

Hey AGD2, I just wanted to say, although you guys have probably never ventured into my neck of the Sierra woods , I'd welcome it if you'd post a topic about Al Emmo and what fans could do to help, there. (Heck, Tom L visits my website and forums as well as vice versa, these days.) I also strongly re...

I guess, don't spruik your game and tell the world how wonderful it's going to be, and release a demo that doesn't really highlight that image. I think QFG2VGA was in hindsight announced too far in advance, especially given how seriously the team would turn to their commercial enterprise (I think th...

Assuming the game is in final alpha stages, I think a demo is a lousy idea. If you want a demo, play the original :) Why? Well, I presume to release a demo you have to work hard making sure it's perfect and bug-free, and that sounds like a lot of hard work that would be better served generally makin...

Totally awesome. Both the post quality in this thread and the AGD posts. I'm very glad (from both a Sierra and adventure game community wellbeing perspective) to see both Al Emmo and QFG2VGA progressing, in their very different stages. It's really pleasing to hear the publishing deal has finally com...

Really cool thread guys (the result, not the original post). I've been part of quite a few failed SQ remakes/fangames, now (SQ prequels, Khaveen's SQ3VGA remake, and more). The writing comment is spot on. I've seen more wannabe fangame creators than I care to remember, even in the SQ community, and ...

I agree, we probably shouldn't continue this here. Would like to say this, though: I was worried when I saw you were the last poster, Yonkey, but I have to give you a hell of a lot of credit- you've replied damn well. I may not agree with everything you say, but you've been eloquent and phrased ever...

I agree (surprisingly!) with quite a lot of things that Avatar has said. :) However, I don't agree with the overall sentiment. KQ8 was two steps backwards for the KQ series, and I firmly believe KQ9 (rather, TSL:Shadows/etc.) will be three more steps backwards. I've had enough inside info fed to me ...

Although MusicallyInspired's posts weren't *nice*, with respect, Yonkey, I'd hardly call them 'highly offensive'. "great.. and stuff." is a nothing. Surely, as a game maker you're used to criticism. If that really bothered you, I'd hate to see how you'd react to something really vicious th...

Thank God you said that, AGD2, because I'm from Adelaide and was about to say, "I consider being on Neighbours a BAD thing". ;) Honestly, it's trash. Pseudo-lesbians and psychotics in a suburbian street. Actually, even worse than Neighbours/Home and Away is Blue Heelers, at least in the cr...

Well in which case, I'll throw it on the pile with the trance version of "Erana's Peace", the rock remix of "Isle of Wonder", and Troels Pleimert's various weird SQ remixes (to name but a few), then. Brandon, people don't JUST remix something because they 'want to'. Wanting to im...

Since this was created about our nick.. :) My nick 'Spikey' was created for the Space Quest-themed forum "The SubSpace Channel", which I joined around 2002 (possibly 2001, I forget), because of the character from SQ5. Keeping in mind, most characters from the games were taken (there were a...

You probably don't want my opinion, but- why would you take a russian folk dance style track and turn it into a synth-lead trance track (sorry if i've confused my genres, that's the best I can describe it as)? Haven't heard this second version, admittedly, but it doesn't sound like you changed *that...

Lol! Contrast that to me, I've had a rough week and apart from QFG2VGA/KQ3VGA, Australia got beaten by Brazil today, and my PC is infected by a virus. Excellent work guys. KQ3 was always my elast favourite KQ, simply because the AGI interface doesn't suit it at all well.

Hopefully you've enhanced it without making it a new game in palces (i.e. KQ2VGA), and I look forward to getting a millisecond to play it.

Cross-posted from QfMG: Whoa! I joined the Sierra community in late 2002, and obviously QfMG didn't exist way back then. So, a young man searching for QFG related sites stumbled across Hero6.  (I've always loved QFG the most.) Back then I was a hardcore Hero6 fan, I downloaded the MP3 files. I have ...

Been there, done that. I run a Sierra website and have that sort of experience on a very regular basis over the years. So, I'm not speaking without experience. On KQ9, there's very good reasons, I'd have thought: http://users.boardnation.com/~sierramusic/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=149...
