Re: ScummVM now supports SCI!
This actually makes running them on the mac a lot easier too just because of Scummvms front end interface. No more mount C: for me!

Re: Windows XP to 7 Compatibility
I recently installed QFG5 on my Win 7 Machine, and it seems to work perfectly fine. I have a 64 bit version (of Win7), and just patched it with the 64 bit patch on the Sierra Help Pages. I don't even need to run it in any compatibility mode either (though without the 64 bit patch, I had to run it i...

Re: Windows XP to 7 Compatibility
I have the 6 disk version of beast within and used the compiler from gk2000, I used their installer to get the cd version of Sins to work as well, Dragon Fire was a real hassle to work because of the quick time drivers it needed. I also could only run it in 98 compatibility mode not Nt/ME I'm more w...

Windows XP to 7 Compatibility
I currently have all the adventure games I could ever want to play on my Windows XP partition. They all work fine, most have launchers and don't require cds. Now because I did this years ago my Windows OS is a bit buggy with some things and needs a fresh install, I figure now that Vista is over I mi...

Re: Episodic releases VS. Full releases?
Mine actually go into the applications folder or the desktop depending on the preference I choose during installation. I'm ok with that. Arguing against a game because there are too many icons is a bit silly. Hey, if you read my post again, you'll see I'm not actually arguing against episodic gamin...

Re: The Silver Lining Lives!
But Oberon, and the druid? UGH wow it's like they took the hippie teacher from Beavis and Butthead and put him in those roles, very annoying. I realize they couldn't get a guy like Tony Jay, but certainly they could've picked someone more appropriately suited to the characters, with a more seasoned...

Re: Episodic releases VS. Full releases?
They do it because it's hard to fund a huge game all at once and you can get revenue coming in for production of sequels. in TSLs case it's simply a big game being split up. I prefer episodic release simply because there's no argument against it. If you'd rather play a full game you're going to get ...

It's because Aspyr does most porting for LA and they are affiliated with Gameagent, a direct competitor to steam. So I can get both games from LA directly for mac I just can't get the steam deal that's going right now.

I saw screenshots of the 3DS but you really can't judge one until you see one I suppose. seems like it would be really hard to market one.

same thing I was writing about harvesting little girls in Bioshock. Back in the days of Fallout 1 and 2 they had to take all the children out of the game in the European versions (Breaking a few quests) because of the games free roam and ability to kill children if one so chooses. Fallout 3 they bac...

Yahtzee recently had a quote that you reminded me of. You know, I was watching Kick Ass a while back, and I had a strange thought during the scene where Nicolas Cage was mercilessly gunning down a roomful of severely outmatched thugs. I remember thinking, "I do that sort of thing in games all t...
