Re: Besides KQ6, which do you consider the other greatest KQ?

Although contrived the way you do save your game, which is by quitting it still saves your point which you can restore to from the main menu. (just checked it now) Besides, you needn't save often as whenever you die you're given the option to try again and there are no dead ends. So having to use th...

Re: Besides KQ6, which do you consider the other greatest KQ?

The whole chapter select at the start was a bit stupid as well. Why would you want to start the last chapter before you have even played the game? If you want to carry on where you left off, that's what the save feature is for. I wouldn't want to wait for the last episode of Tales of Monkey Island ...

Re: Space Quest II Remake Trailer

I didn't actually notice that adobe frame pop up in the countdown. I didn't use Adobe Premiere to make this, I used Final Cut Pro and that was stock footage I downloaded that featured many old style clips such as the countdown and the burn at the end, although I did tweak that bit myself.

Re: Future Agdi Games.....

Mostly I feel sad because, even though there are many attempts started at remakes, AGDI at least finished them! That shows not only the talent I mentioned, but also dedication. If only "real" developers still had that state of mind, the realm of adventure games wouldn't be in this sorry s...

Re:  Random rants go here.

I remember that desert island guy one being pretty cool. I think you're probably referring to the Jonny Castaway screensaver. There's a whole damned website dedicated to it, heh. You can still download it as well. I believe I found it on a Sierra disc, it was either KQ6 or SQ6 I can't remember but ...

Re: The Gamers Thread: PS3, PC, Wii, 360... pick your poison!!

I must admit, Sony's motion controller was actually really good. Especially for something that's still a work in progress. Just imagine how far they'll get in a year. I hope this is what the new Wii Motionplus is similar to because Sony have got the virtual axis spot on in that video. Microsoft's on...

Re: Part of the problem for adventure games

I can only guess he means the Spanish version of the game with Spanish voice acting, therefore Rolf wasn't involved with the voice talent. That would have been why it was ruined for him.

Don't forget you can drown in Monkey Island if you stay underwater for 10 minutes.

I've never tried it in MI2 though when you're swimming in the sea looking for the monkey head. You know what? I'm going to play MI2 right now! I had the Booty Island party theme stuck in my head all day.

Re: Sierra or Lucasarts

I'd have to agree with Lamb, here. I love Sierra adventure games, hell why would I be remaking them if otherwise? But when comparing the two I personally enjoyed Lucsarts games more! Grim Fandango, Monkey Island series, Day of the Tentacle, Loom, Full Throttle, Sam n Max! Man, they were some awesome...

That's a shame. I actually got to play this and it was really good. It was bound to happen to the project sooner or later.

If you double click anywhere on the screen it will take you there instantly. It's not the Space Quest way but it saves you having to go back to the beginning all the time!

Re: Sierra Games playable in Browser!!

I mean chatroom as you can talk to other people and play the game, I'm not comparing it to IRC or a typical chatroom, I just mean you're able to interact with each other if you like. If you're playing a game like Halo than you will likely chat to the other people in the game (as long as they're not ...

Re: Sierra Games playable in Browser!!

This isn't a chat room. This is a chatroom, but it's not the main fundamental of it as you can obviously play the game but you can interact with each other, a few times anyway as people just want to play the damned game! It's like playing a game of Halo and being able to chat to other people. I did...

Re: Sierra Games playable in Browser!!

This isn't anything new. They did this with Good Old Adventures about 5 or so years ago. That even played better than this as this doesn't really work. Besides, they're not the full games. Just chatrooms in certain parts of the game from what I can see.

Re: Annoying bots

I've got a mod installed on the IA forums that prevents these spam posts. Works like a treat, haven't had one spam post since I installed it. Although, don't hold me to that they usually wriggle themselves in again. It's basically runs off a service called Askimet which cleverly interprets these kin...

Conquest of the Longbow Saved Game

Hey, I recently started to play COLB after many years of not really bothering to play it. It's a fantastic game but I've come to a point where I can't go any further due to a glitch. It's near the end where you have to run away from the guards a second time but no matter what I just don't get a chan...

Re: Fighting Nigerian Email Scams (funny!)

Just had a good old Nigerian scam attempt. Thought I'd share my own story. So, I sold my laptop on ebay and allowed users to Buy it Now. It wasn't long till someone did buy it for the full price. Noticing the winner was from the US I was a bit skeptic about the shipping costs. I got a message on eba...

That Night Before was an excellent game. I was actually working with the developer of it on a TNB prequel which never took off. It was just ideas and storylines but it never got beyond that. But yeah, it's a really fun game to play.

There's a huge difference between a loving family adopting a child anywhere in the world, and Madonna adopting a child from anywhere in the world. When she was living in the UK she was sometimes blasted in the tabloids that not only is she an unfit mother but she's never around for her children. It ...
